Issues with bill organization. Had paid all room service bills in full but they asked me to pay then again at checkout so I had to provide the recipts I saved (thankfully). Turned out to be staff mistake, they forgot to add stuff to the bill at the time and had to pay the diffrence. Very unorganized.

Nästan full pott!Posted Aug 26, 2015 on Hotels

Mercure Staines its reputation slightlyPosted Aug 12, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel is located extremely centrally within Staines. It claims to offer free parking, but in reality this is only for the first 20 or so cars to arrive. However, there is a reasonably priced municipal car park with very cheap weekend rates right next door. The hotel is quite old-fashioned, which is no bad thing, and the room itself was clean and essentially comfortable. It would have been more so had the weather not been extremely hot: the air-conditioning in the room was not working, although the electric fan provided gave some relief. The TV had a very poor selection of channels. On the other hand, the shower was very good. The hotel seemed inordinately proud of the fact that it had provided two small bottles of complimentary water in the room - even mentioning the fact within a framed welcome message. "The best quid you ever spent", as I said to the receptionist.

Good hotel locationPosted Aug 8, 2015 on Hotels
We wanted a hotel close to friends we were visiting this was a prefect location for the shops and close to the River Thanes as well. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good even better as he weather was lovely so we could sit outside looking out over the river

Not a Great First Impression, But Overall OK :)Posted Jul 31, 2015 on Hotels
We arrived in the middle of a rainstorm. The hotel has limited parking and the lot was full. There was water in the hotel lobby and it generally felt wet. The stairs creaked badly when we walked up to our room. First impression was, "What have we gotten into?" Then it got better - the room was wonderful with a modern bathroom and a door that opened out onto the Thames river. The hotel is located a block away from shopping and restaurants, so we walked to all of our meals. We had a wonderful romantic walk along the Thames for our last evening in England. The hotel lobby and common areas need attention, but the room itself was great. We ended up having to park in a city parking lot for a total of 20 dollars over two days - not terrible, but not great either.

The Mercure Hotel - StainesPosted Jul 29, 2015 on Hotels
My husband & I stayed for our 4th wedding anniversary weekend. The Hotel was easy to find, car parking was available on arrival. We were given our room as soon as we arrived. Roberta on Reception was very informative and helpful. The room was clean, but very warm!! (it was July! but the room felt 'stuffy' due to very little opportunity for air circulation) Weather was 'pants' but you cannot change that! The Decor was a little tired, with the overall theme being a mossy/brown paint colour. We felt a lighter colour scheme in the room might have made it seem less gloomy. The bed was firm but comfortable, linen clean, additional towels were made available, as well as bathroom products. Could have done with a few more milk's in the Tea & Coffee cupboard. Patrick on reception was more than helpful, and the waiting staff at breakfast were polite and efficient. The scrambled eggs at breakfast looked unappetising, but my request for poached eggs on the Sunday morning was fulfilled and was a better option than the 'tired fried' eggs on the buffet...

The carpet was terrible and the room was 200m and 6 flights of stairs away. The bed was nice and comfortable and the shower was great.
