Overnight business stay

Posted Jul 12, 2016
Pros: the decoration in the room & the bathroom
Cons: The training of the staff & their confidence / approach to customers (except reception - they were marvellous!)
Location: Picturesque - by The Thames
The receptionist couldn't have bene more helpful. the room was clean & modern. I liked the wet room / bathroom. The staff in 'Saffron' restaurant however were apathetic. The restaurant was not welcoming. The waiter brought my order quickly. I was dining alone. There was one other couple in the restaurant who did nothing but complain. The waiter seemed to be avoiding the restaurant. I'm not sure if this was the reason why. The food was quite nice, the waiter was in a hurry to clear away my plates, before I had finished what I wanted to eat. I had to stop him from taking them away. There was not a menu for desserts. Food prices were comparable with other hotels I've visited. The breakfast service would have benefitted from someone who could speak English well & confidently. The girl on duty was very pleasant but had no confidence in dealing with customers. A confident approach to explain the service would have sufficed. It is a 'budget' hotel & very nicely decorated for such. I have stayed in a number of hotels in this area & they all seem to suffer from the same, that of the staff lacking either experience / confidence in dealing with customers. With someone overseeing the proceedings, this hotel 'could' be exceptional. However my experience was quite disappointing.

Close to town centre. Ideal for our requirements.

Pros: The location and easy access that we had for our visit. The quiet area of the street but, within easy distance to the town centre.
Cons: A bit disappointed that the over enthusiastic waiter on the first morning cleared our only half finished breakfast away from our table before we had.
Location: Within easy reach of Windsor, Thorpe Park, Legoland and the Thames.
Check-in really efficient and friendly. Room spotless when entered. Very quiet location on ground floor. Helpful reception person who answered all our enquiries. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fine enough for one night

Posted Jun 27, 2016
Just needed a one night stay before heading home. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. I may as well have slept on the floor. However, location was fine, breakfast was great.

Ok stay for a night. Strange smell in the reception area. Except for that, the hotel is fine. Ok breakfast, nice and clean room.
