Middle of Nowhere

This hotel is hard to get to. The parking garage ($12 a day) is not particularly close to the hotel and hard to navigate. Front desk staff was not esp friendly. Most annoying (to me) that there was no coffee or any refreshments out but only behind locked doors for Honors members. The weekend brunch (for $22) in the restaurant was also subpar.

Ok rooms but staff made stay amazing!

The room looked older then i expected paint chips on ceiling and door in the bathroom the closet doors kept coming off which was annoying. The staff were so pleasent and really made the staf great. Always smiling saying hi as you passed. Outside well kept. The room did not have a frig which was a huge downfall.

Disappointing Stay

Pros: The best feature was the and helpful staff, from cleaning and maintenance to clerks and management who responded quickly.
Cons: See above, under "your experience."
Location: Location was central to downtown and nearby towns, with easy access to/from family in New Canaan and to/from Amtrak.
While the pictures were pleasing, the stay was not so: inoperative thermostat the first night so we "froze"; tiny blood splatter noted by the toilet walls the second day; extremely dirty a/c filter removed and thermostat fixed the second day, BUT no vacuuming to clean up mess; toilet flood of entire bathroom floor the third day; vacuuming of toilet vent and bedroom floor the third day after second request; necessity to park in overflow parking areas at a farther distance from hotel, all but one day; massive construction/renovation of this older hotel, NOT advertised. The best feature was the courteous and helpful staff, from cleaning and maintenance to clerks and management who were very quick responders to any request. The best was the host of the executive floor hospitality room who greeted us so warmly every day and made sure we had everything to eat we wanted.

Hotel is under renovation

Pros: Easy to get to
Cons: Free self parking
Location: Good as a stop over from the highway or train.
The hotel will be very nice and is pretty nice now but there is major renovation going on so you have to deal with detours and things moving around by the hour. Separate from that, there is a self parking fee of $12 which is ridiculous since there is a lot of parking and we had to walk a long distance from the parking to get to the hotel. Other than that, the hotel is fine. Staff is friendly and facilities are clean. Easy to get to

Great hotel, but some issues

The hotel staff we met were very friendly, and the room was spacious and in good condition. However, on the morning we were checking out, there was a very strange event: Someone opened the door without knocking at 7 am. They turned on the light, dropped a piece of paper (which turned out to be the summary of our bill), and then closed the door and left without turning the light off! Instead of quietly slipping our bill under the door, they woke us up and invaded our privacy by entering without knocking.

Business Hotel near Downtown

When I book a hotel I always check for two things: 1) is there a hair dryer in the room 2) are there bathrobes in the room. I don't like to pack them if I don't have to. I found online that this Hilton had both. When we checked in there was a hair dryer (most hotels have them these days), but no robes. I called customer service "We'll send one right up." "I need two." "Oh, I'll check" Two were sent up about 20 minutes later. When I'm booking an Executive Floor room, and I find online that the hotel says that there are bathrobes in the room I don't want to have to call up to get them. Thursday, Nov 17 – 1. Arrived about 10p 2. Executive floor room booked 3. TV remote barely worked, needed batteries 4. There was no mini-frig in the room 5. Pillows hard as a rock Friday, Nov. 18 - 1. Had breakfast in Executive lounge 2. Eggs were cold although kept in a chafing dish 3. No tables to eat at available, there's only about 6 in total 4. Called for batteries for the remote and for a soft pillow as I could not sleep on the other ones 5. Left hotel after breakfast and returned at 10P to an unmade room 6. The TV was on, we never leave the TV on when we leave a hotel room, so we assumed someone has replaced the remote or the batteries. The TV is working now. 7. Called to have the room cleaned, two ladies were there in about 10 minutes 8. They called and got me a soft pillow Saturday, Nov 19 - 1. Had to get room service because no breakfast service in the Executive Lounge on weekend

Parts of hotel are under a huge reno,/ construction. The parking lot is a mess!
