We loved everything at the William Cecil, the food, the room, the bed, can't fault anything
Far too expensivePosted Dec 16, 2017 on Hotels
Nice hotel but very overpriced at £170 for a double at single occupancy
Superb hotel and a stunning part of the country...Posted Dec 1, 2017 on Hotels
It was a treat for my partners birthday who had never been to Stamford before and I had only visited briefly on business. We were not disappointed as the hotel was warm friendly and welcoming and Stamford itself is a gem of a place to spend a weekend in.

Great location, free car parking, easy to find, waPosted Nov 28, 2017
Pros: Everything as per above comments
I always try to stay here when in the area as the staff are fabulous ambassadors of customer service where nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is stunning in its historic style and beds/pillows super comfortable. They have the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had and the dinner was just a tasty and all for a very competitive price.

Might have been unlucky but disappointingPosted Nov 6, 2017 on Hotels
This was not an enjoyable experience from the start. The post code took me 1.5 miles away from the hotel. The receptionist said that does happen sometimes. The bedroom (No 3) was not suitable in many ways: noisy, uncomfortable and not well laid out. The meals were good but pricey and the service slow. A relatively expensive one-night stay with too many disappointments. Not recommended if you could find and alternative.

Pros: Location close to town centre. Breakfast was lovely, nice to be able to order hot food from a menu rather than the usual buffet style breakfast.
Cons: Hotel is very close to a main road and the windows are single glazed sash windows so it was a bit noisy.
Really nice stay here, excellent location close to centre of town. Well appointed room, enjoyed the breakfast and walk through the grounds into Burley House.
