Lime Rock 2015

Posted Sep 15, 2015
Pros: Comfort, convenience, location. Easy to get to Lime Rock and Rhinebeck with many other points of interest between.
Location: Live music in the square while you dine at Rhinebeck. A small cinema at Millerton. Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park.
Was a bit apprehensive about making reservations at Jenny's b/c we could not get much information about them. Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms, quality, and comfort. Breakfast (on the weekend) was excellent. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Highly recommend and will return. A separate issue, our actual reservation was not for the dates that we wanted. I blame the travel website (Expedia) for setting up the situation and myself for not checking carefully. Regardless, when we arrived on our planned schedule we were 3 days early according to the reservation. Jenny's understood, moved the reservation to our actual travel dates, and since the rooms we expected to be in were already occupied Jenny's arranged other rooms that turned out to be even better for our needs. A big THANK YOU to Jenny's.

Any port in a storm???

Posted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
Jenny's pretty much met our expectations ... which, frankly were not very high considering how close to July 4th we finally booked a room. This place is REALLY old, and very run down. The staircase is rotting and splintered and appears in imminent danger of falling apart. But the room was clean, and fortunately we did not encounter any bedbugs. Donna, one of the owners was genuinely friendly, and gracious. She served us a nice complimentary breakfast, and she offered no apologies for the condition of the place. As they say, You get what you pay for. In our case, it was a very "old school" $65 room ... at $150 per night, for a two night stay. Unfortunately for visitors to the area, all of the hotels in the Berkshires region -- especially the chains -- feel entitled to "jack up" their prices for the most popular travel weekend of the summer. Ultimately, we were happy to have found a clean, albeit overpriced place to sleep, at the very last minute. Would we stay there again? Only in a pinch.

Adequate place to stay but not much more

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Relatively inexpensive compared to area accommodations is it's biggest plus. Otherwise it is merely adequate. Relatively comfortable but very small room and bathroom. Disappointing that the restaurant was not open at all. The staff did not go out of their way to be helpful or welcoming...mostly they were invisible. The exterior shows definite signs of deterioration, though the interior looked okay. Overall, it just seems tired like its ready to retire.

Would go back

Room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was a delightful surprise! Real eggs and pancakes not just a token muffin. Wi-fi was not great. Location was fine for us but is just a stop in the road, no "view" or attraction.

Cute place from the road.

We found this place to be in bad need of updating. It's stuck in the past. Building needs maintince too. The room itself was clean and prepared. Bed was old and the pillows worn out. Wireless was unavailable. TV is cheap. Over priced for what you get. :(

Very Country

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Price but one would expect A/C for over $100.
Cons: Needs A/C in rooms. Exterior need work - painting especially.
Location: Spent most of my time in Rhinebeck and Red Hook, N.Y. Decent restaurant in Standfordville.
Very country. Room very plain but clean. Walls were "thin" as I could hear TV in the adjoining room. Thankfully weather was pleasant so there was no need for A/C (which the room didn't have). Used overhead fan one night.. Breakfast just on the weekends.
