The guy who came late in the night to check us in was very nice. Great guy. However, I felt like I was staying in down town portland, I was scared to sleep in the he'd or walk around barefoot. There was a couple moving their belongings from one room across the parking lot to another room all night long. They were living at the motel. Which isn't an issue, it was the moving of their stuff all night long, right by our door and window. We slept and left. The smell is musty and stale. We were the only temporary visitors, the 2 or 3 other rooms occupied were permanent tenants. I looked at getting a room at the best western up the street, as I waited for the receptionist to show up to check us in. I wish I would have. However, I didnt get any bug bites so, unscathed we came out.

Room was clean, updated, and generally quiet. Staff had great restaurant recommendations and the evening cookies in the lobby shouldn’t be missed. Location was great very walkable to restaurants, shopping and Safeway. A couple notes regarding our second floor room (3 floor bldg): 1) Shortest toilet we have seen outside a daycare center (a squatty potty?) 2) One of the tallest, unadjustable shower heads we have seen 3) Breakfast buffet was disappointing and omelettes okay but very slow. Coffee was only warm all 3 mornings. Opted out of breakfast for a protein bar on day 3. 4) TV reception poor! Staff reset our TV night one and said sometimes internet is slow when heavily used. TV would work and then black screen and then forced to change cha channels or wait. A bit frustrating 5) Our 3rd floor neighbors were very noisy heavy walkers. Moved furniture around at night. Maybe a family or part of the baseball team staying in the hotel. Made the evening and morning noisy. We would stay here again but would request a 3rd floor room and would hope all the kids/ teams are on the first floor near the pool.

The Finch is a charming boutique hotel where every detail feels intentional. From the beautiful architecture to the thoughtfully selected bedding, everything has been carefully curated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bedding is luxurious, and the bed itself is incredibly comfortable, making for a wonderful night's sleep. One of my favorite features is the outdoor fireplace—it's the perfect place to unwind in the evening with a glass of wine from one of the local wineries. The games in the lobby and the cornhole on the lawn add a fun, welcoming touch, and there are cozy seating areas scattered throughout the property that invite you to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The location couldn't be better. Situated right in downtown, it's an easy walk to fantastic restaurants, local wineries, and adorable shops. What truly sets The Finch apart, though, is the customer service. The staff is exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. This was my second stay at The Finch, and it was every bit as wonderful as my first. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning again.
