Overbooked their hotel

Posted Apr 23, 2016
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. Arrived at the Ramada Inn, State Coollege, PA. a little after check in time only to find out from the hotel management that they had overbooked the hotel and did not have a room available for us, even though I had booked the room months ago. The hotel management did have to find us other accommodations at another hotel and comp'd the stay. However the other arrangements were at the Super 8 down the street. The room was horrific and smelled highly of Clorox. Carpets were dingy dirty looking. Bed sheets smelled like cigarette smoke although it was a non smoking room. Air conditioning sounded like a plane taking off all night long. When I booked this stay I specifically did not choose to stay at the Super 8 due to low ratings. So when we were told that that's were we would be staying I was immediately not happy. Then arriving at that hotel and spending the night in a rather subpar room was even more upsetting. I will never ever try to book a hotel stay at the Ramada Inn again. And definitely know I will never book at the Super 8 either.

Fine hotel. No elevator to our room. There was no continental breakfast but you could pay for a meal at the restaurant. They gave coupons for the on site restuarant at check in.

There is an indoor pool but our room had outdoor access only. It was 22 degrees outside and my kids had to walk outside to get to the pool. Our room had an odor. And we had to have maintenance come fix our toilet that back upped. The bathroom was terribly small.

Pros: Not much
Cons: The desk staff needs training on being professional.
Location: Location is good.
The desk staff needs some training on being professional. The cleaning staff is top notch.
