Hot tub broken.pool water cool 82 degrees,outdated and needed a good cleaning. Sad because we called ahead and drove hours to this particular hotel to soak in the hot tub. The manager was a sweet,handsome,young man and expressed understanding to my frustration and we got free meals.definatley needs up keep and while the rooms were basic and appeared clean the mattress didn't have a cover and was stained, ewww. Some broken tile in the bathroom and wallpaper coming off the walls in the room but after I did a thorough cleaning we were able to relax in our room. Customer service was good and I appreciate that. They mentioned they are doing an update on the hotel the end of 2024 so that is a positive and for sure needed. Loud refrigerator in the room, but kept cold. No microwave in the room we walked about 80 feet to get to a communal microwave. I

The stay was pretty cool! The only thing that bothered me was the bed, it was very uncomfortable and made my back hurt lol. Not funny but yeah that’s the only issue. Very nice staff and very clean! Outside and inside. There isn’t much around either, we stayed for the drake concert and left as soon as we woke up.

I only rate it 4 stars because restaurants, room service and gift shops were closed despite the information I was given when booking hotel. Everything from services, cleanliness, and location convenience to outside restaurants were great. Pool was well stocked with towels. Room was perfect. Staff was helpful. I'd book again

The Penn Stater needs a serious upgrade. The decor is old, my shower head dripped, and my carpet and wallpaper had seen better days. The bed was comfortable but I found a few little ants in my bathroom and the body wash in the shower wasn’t refilled so I didn’t have enough.

The Check-In was terrible….There was one person at the front desk at 4PM Check-in time. We were online for one hour. We left and came back at 8PM to Check -In again.

Bathroom was not cleaned from prior guest thoroughly. We were walking on bath salts. Curtain rod was missing in main bedroom. No sheets on pull out bed and when asked for them to be supplied, was given folded sheets to put on myself.

Penn Stater is a big hotel with a restaurant, bar and gift shop. Room was big and surrounded by trees, which is so pretty to look out at. Definitely will go back!

I expected housekeeping to make the bed and remove the dirty hotel glasses that were use. The only thing the did was switched towels and emptied bathroom trash.

Loved to stay there for many years but short - slow staffed last few stats at front desk and restaurant. Very short staff in pub- for multiple visits this year. A shame to be there and not have the feeling we have had before.

Hotel with good amenities
The hotel needs updating but is clean and staff are great. It is a bonus to have a restaurant and bar on site. We had a mix up on our room and the manager was very apologetic and compensated us for the issue. I was impressed with the customer service standard.

Not up to par.
I did pre check online but was still asked for my credit card information upon arrival. I had to tell the young lady checking me in that I had already provided this. We were giving a room with two double beds instead of a king size room. When I asked why this was, I was told the king size rooms were out of order, whatever that’s supposed to mean. I was not told this until we had actually gone into our room and seen two double beds instead of a king size bed. When I asked if I could have a room with two queen size beds I was told they were already booked. The tub had some type of nonslip barrier peeling off of the bottom. We tried to charge our bar bill to our room and we were told that that was impossible because there was a new system in place that wasn’t working. This was also true in the restaurant. I have stay at this hotel, many times, and was always very pleased with the service and the facilities but not this time. The hotel itself was clean and the restaurant and Bar staff couldn’t have been nicer. We have had Roy as a bartender before staying there and he’s a great guy. The waitresses in the restaurant were exceptional too. The front desk staff when we checked in was lacking. One young lady was even playing on her cell phone on the side over by a computer.

The room was very spacious and our king bed was very comfortable. We were greeted by someone as soon as we walked in the door. I was able to check in prior to our arrival so all I needed to do was pick up my room key when I got there. We ate at the Legends Bar on site since the weather was damp and cold. The food was very good and our waitress was excellent. We had a party of 12 and she didn’t miss a thing.

Property is older and will soon be rennovated but is in pretty nice condition considering its age. I would stay here again. I hope the price does not increase a lot post rennovation.
