A relatively inexpensive hotel, close to centre

This is an unusual place to stay, being inside a university hospital. You are likely to share breakfast with tired mums and their new babies, as well as hikers setting for for a day's adventure, and business people, not to mention doctors and nurses starting or ending their shifts.
The rooms are comfortable, and the cleaning staff are impeccably polite, discreet, and thorough.
The reception staff are helpful and friendly, and will give you a map, and directions.
There is a bus stop right outside the hospital. Number 4 gets you into town in 4 minutes, and passes every 5 minutes or so. Number 4 plus Number 9 will get you to the airport in about 45 minutes.
The rooms are quite soundproof, and even though I seemed to be on a maternity floor, I never heard new babies crying from inside my room.
The bathroom amenities are simple, with a soap dispenser of body wash and shampoo combined on the shower wall. Pays to bring your own stuff there. Towels are generously sized, and nice and fluffy.
My single room had a small closet with 2 hangers, an armchair, plus a desk chair. The TV had a good selection of channels, including many English ones. The desk itself was a generous size, and the room had several lighting options.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Stavanger.
