Don't stay here...not what is advertised!Posted Mar 22, 2015 on Hotels
Do not stay at this hotel...we should have known better when they require you to sign that there is no refund if you check out early. We got to the loft with the so called queen bed. It is not a queen size bed - it is a full size. Our feet hang over the end. We talked to Robert in the morning and he told us to check tonight because a loft would be available and we could look at the bed. Well we got back from skiing and Robert is not here so we talked to Yage. First of all - her greeting at the desk was, "Yeah, what do you need?" We told her we talked to Robert and she said nope there is nothing and nothing she can do until we write a review. Yage needs a lesson in customer service and this place needs to advertise correctly. The place is outdated but we decided to stay here rather than a hotel because of the kitchen (which is convenient). Also, the walls are paper thin and can hear full conversations of the people next door and in the hallways.

Won't be backPosted Mar 20, 2015 on Hotels
Our welcome was not welcoming. The lady at the front desk was not polite or happy in our greeting. She said we didn't have a reservation then that we owed for it still. She was wrong on both and charged our card for the reservation and $100 for damage deposit. Later she gave us back our room charge when I showed her all the paperwork. When she got to the part about amenties she shouted for everyone in line to listen "because I will only say this once". We got a handicap room though we are not handicap. There was damaged furniture we had to report right when we got there. The room was older design. It did for our short stay.

Weekend Ski Getaway!Posted Mar 6, 2015 on Hotels
We have rented many condos in steamboat over the years. The main disappointing factor was that the kitchen was not as well stocked as other condos we have rented through VRBO. There was not even salt and pepper! Overall, the hotel amenities were great. Hot tub and pool were indoors and there was plenty of parking and a storage locker for our gear. The private shuttle service to the ski area and downtown was a really nice service.

Not good for small childrenPosted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: The shuttle to the ski resort. Staff was friendly
Location: The location is not good if you don't have a car.
Though they have a pool, this is not the hotel for small children. The hotel is older, configuration is weird, MANY stairs to your room, difficult to get luggage to room with cart (you have to park in back, take luggage cart through a back door, and down a back hallway to get to elevators). We stayed in a loft, the stairs were narrow, not room for a pack and play and bed in upstairs room. We ended up checking out early and coming home. Disappointed in facilities. Pool was cold. Room was dirty, there was dust and dirt under the furniture. Checking in it was a good thing the line was long and I got to listen to everyone else's check in as the clerks did not give every guest the same information "check out times, code to gym, pool hours, shuttle times, etc.." I wish we would have spent extra money to stay somewhere else.

Nice for the PricePosted Mar 2, 2015 on Hotels
The suite was nice and it was clean. The entry door to the suite would not shut unless you slammed it (which probably annoyed other guests) and the bathroom sink did not drain well but otherwise things were in good condition and worked well. There was a discrepancy regarding late checkout fees after 10am but before 12 noon between the staff person I talked to in the evening the night before checking out and the person who actually checked us out @ 11:30 a.m., so we got charged a fee I am not sure was correct. The front desk staff are friendly but not necessarily all knowledgeable about fees or the shuttle service the hotel provided (drop off location and start and end times). Overall a pleasant stay and reasonably priced.

Location: The shuttle to/from the ski-hill/downtown is great. Mark the shuttle driver was great, providing some great recommendations.
Not on the ski hill, but the rooms are big (especially the loft/1-bed rooms). The facilities are great and so much more than a normal hotel. There is no onsite restaurant and you are not walking distance to either downtown or the ski hill, but the shuttle is frequent enough and convenient.

Not too nicePosted Feb 24, 2015 on Hotels
Took a half hour to get checked in. Room was a little dirty. Hair dryer was broken and I asked the front desk for another and they said they would send someone up and they never did. The wall heaters are old and noisy and not easy to control the temp. Had to pay a daily resort fee but I'm not sure what for, not much of a resort. The pool is not nice and there are only indoor hottubs. Wish we would have stayed somewhere nice for what would have been less money.
