Really nice hotel in an unbeatable location.

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Location, comfort.
Cons: Room service...temperature of the food and accuracy of the order.
Location: Gondola to the mountain top, hiking and biking trails, close to downtown
Easy access to everything in the area. Great parking available. Walk out and onto the mountain trails.

We love this hotel and have stayed here several times, particularly dine it is pet friendly. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms and facilities are clean and spacious. It is located right on the mountain convenient to shops and restaurants. We will definitely return here this Winter!

massive over haul needed

Posted Aug 29, 2016
Pros: location to mountain is good , view
Cons: Hotel needs complete over haul from outside ( paint etc ) to inside ( total makeover ) . small things that need attention all over property
Location: gondolla
It is easy to rate this hotel , nothing stands out as either excellent or terrible , it is simply OK . From check in to check out everything was OK , except a one bedroom " condo " room cost me $450 ! That is where you question the choice of staying here vs somewhere else in Steamboat or the other near by resort areas such as Breck Or Vail. $450 buys me excellence at the Four Seasons or two Ritz's in Vail . We live in Colorado & love the mountains , love to hike , bike etc , then head back to a resort hotel and swim , eat & sleep . Steamboat is falling way behind Vail , Breck , Telluride ( to name the best ) in providing a complete experience . This hotel is a reminder of that brutal fact , it lacks in every area . Frankly , we will not be back to this hotel or Steamboat anytime soon .

A nice splurge, even in summer

Posted Aug 15, 2016
Pros: Parking on site, gorgeous mountain scenery, nice bar, many dining options nearby, plus some excellent restaurants in town. Family friendly.
Cons: A little sleepy in the summer. This place would really be hopping during ski season!
Location: Two hot springs available, downtown and at Strawberry Park (30 min. away). Music festival and Emerald City Opera in the summer. Great eats in town!
Three days of relaxation, mixed with a little business. Not that far from downtown (shuttles available).

Nice hotel nothing really stands out for the price. Nice that it's right next to the slopes and gondola.

LOUD hallways

Posted Jul 26, 2016
Pros: Clean. We were on the same level as the hot tub.
Cons: A door sweep?! The hallways were very loud. A "valley view" should have a view, otherwise don't advertise a "view".
Location: Lots of things to do until 5pm. Luckily there was a concert Friday night of our stay, so things stayed open later. Downtown had more to do.
The room was nice and clean. The hallways were so loud! "House keeping", or door slamming, or people talking, at all hours. Vacuuming at 0730! "Valley View" meant the top of the entrance roof. For the price I expect a quiet room, and maybe a view.
