Great hotel if you're there for ski season

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: The bed was super comfortable for me.
Cons: New carpeting, improved reception on some of the tv channels, parking lot upgrade.
Location: Right off of Gondola Square, movies on the mountain each Saturday in the summer if free, have to drive to downtown Steamboat, but it's not far.
This would be a great hotel if you wanted to stay for ski season, instead of the middle of summer. The rest of the patrons were a little questionable and the pool was tiny. The bed was about the only thing that was AWESOME. It was very comfortable. Shower head in the bathroom was for short people (I had to basically squat to rinse my hair and I'm not that tall) and the blow dryer worked for about a minute and then died. Don't expect eggs and bacon for the continental breakfast, though they do have quite the array of cold cereal, mini donuts and cinnamon rolls and bagels and the like. Throughout the halls and in the room the carpet looked as though it was stained, though there was no smell so that was good. Gondola Square was literally right behind the hotel, you can walk to it.

Over the years

Posted Jul 17, 2017
Pros: I enjoyed the pool and being able to walk over to Gondola square to eat drink and shop.
Cons: Parking can be tough at night. Not sure how they would solve that.
I have stayed here many times over the past 15 years and here is why location, location, location. It not the newest or most modern this should be said, but it's right next to the gondola square and on the the slope easy to drive and ski too. This year I found the facility to be well managed and clean, the staff was polite and helpful, it was a very nice 4 day stay.

Great mountain village location.

Posted Jul 12, 2017
Great location being in the mountain village rather than the congestion of downtown. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Pool is nice. Hotel needs updating terribly. I stayed here 17 years ago as well and it looks just like then. Breakfast is very minimal - no eggs or meat, no yogurt, only OJ for juice. All carbs!

Great location to the base of the ski mountain.

Posted Jul 11, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff and location
Cons: Checking the drainage in bathroom; Maids have to be able to see this when cleaning!
Location: Location was excellent. In winter, this would be an excellent area to get to the slopes
Great location close to the base of the ski mountain. The sink in bathroom did not drain and the air conditioning didn't work. We were there for the weekend and it was in the high 80's making it difficult to sleep at night. Although we were on a NON smoking floor, "Pot" was being used and you could smell it the moment you walked into the walk way. Although they offer a continental breakfast, all that was being served was COLD CEREAL.

Older Hotel right on mountain

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Pros: Right on the mountain with close access to bus.
Cons: Some of the staff weren't too friendly or helpful, but most were.
Location: Great location right on the mountain with close bus stops.
If you're looking for a top of the line hotel with all of the amenities, this may not be the place for you. But if you want a basic, good hotel right on the mountain, this is a good choice. The continental breakfast is very basic, but works if you want to grab something on the go. Most of the staff was good. Some went the extra little bit to make you feel good and give you good advice and help, but not all of them.

Hotel was old and over-priced.

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Facility is old and the price is high for the quality of accommodations. The AC unit was extremely loud making sleep difficult without ear plugs.

Old, dated hotel. Great location, close to the mountain and lift.

Old but ok for the price.

Posted Jul 2, 2017
The staff was very pleasant & helpful. The place was old but it was as clean as it could be. Internet sketchy. Heated pool & hot tub a nice addition. Bed was older, not as comfy as my husband wanted.
