Pros: It's location to Bicester village. The food was very good on the first night. The rooms were also to good standard.
Cons: Slightly dated
Location: Bicester village
Disappointing stay. No wifi for the entire weekend. Restaurant was closed on the Saturday evening due to a Christmas party and no food was available either in the bar. The barman and reception staff apologised and suggested that we went to the local pub up the road. How can a hotel not provide food for the hotel guest, when this hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere. "POOR" I would never recommend or stay at this hotel again.

Pros: The food in the restaurant was delicious, I had chicken breast in a creamy mushroom sauce follow by bread and butter pudding with homemade custard.
Cons: Room cleanliness, there were several cobwebs in the room and bathroom.
Location: Bicester shopping village is a short 15min drive away
Location was great for the venue I was working at for 4 days. If you are a lone female guest you might feel a little out of place because it seems during the week it is predominately occupied by workmen but I didn't have any issues with them. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Also the waitress was lovely Its not the best or worst hotel I've stayed in so I would recommend it as 'ok' .

Bad experience

Pros: Expedia
Cons: All the above
Location: Nothing only s petrol station opposite
Very small room in the roof space. No window view. Old fashioned decor in poor condition wallpaper coming away holes from screw fixings in the wall. No chair other than hard dressing table chair so impossible to relax and watch the only 5 advertising chanells on the tv that kept losing signal. Old 80s style bathroom badly in need of restoration was musty and a siverfish and slug found on lino that was loose and poorly fitted. Radiator bubbling and woke me at 5am the first night so turned it off but was still vibrating and rubbing into the dressing table (tight space) woke me at 4am the second night. Also a humming noise coming from either the roof or corridoor wall not sure. Very unpleasant stay. Expedia need to be aware before promoting this as the excecutive suite (what a joke) wish i could post photographs) reported to reception first night no response then on check out where i had to write everything down. Lets see if anything happens re this.

The hotel looked very nice as we arrived, but we found the reception staff had very little local knowledge. Our room was spacious but the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, we spent two sleepless nights, added to which the bathroom was in need of refurbishment, tiles in the shower were dirty, and the whole bathroom smelt of damp. The lounge area dinning room and bar areas however were good, and the food and restaurant staff were excelent. All in all we would not choose to stay in this hotel again should we find ourselves in this location in the future.

The Web site makes this hotel sound really good sample menus of the food in the restaurant sound very appealing except you can't have those menus ! You can have the bar food menu fair enough we ordered the beer battered fish very huge portion of frozen fish with frozen chips and frozen microwaved peas not very tasty at all. The full English breakfast is actually a self serve buffet type using the cheapest ingredients possible from tinned fruit to I think it was supposed to be scrambled egg not what full English means to me. The room was basic but we were only there 1 night so it was fine apart from the fact that the toilet would not flush anything away. The website is exceptionally misleading My only advice is stay somewhere else !!!

Great hotel, ideally located for sightseeing around local villages, castles and shopping at Bicester. Staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in to the reception

Pros: It is very traditional, very big and spacious and the staff are all very helpful.
Cons: Only thing that affected us was that the receptionist who checked us in did not put that we wanted to check out late.
Location: It's pretty cut off, there is a petrol garage opposite for emergency cigarettes, we had to get a cab into town which proved pretty expensive.
We checked in and were welcomed by an incredibly helpful receptionist. She directed us to our room which was quite far down a long corridor, up some stairs (no lifts), round a few bends and then we were there. The room was much bigger than expected, very clean, tea & coffee making facilities included, bath products included. And to top it all off, there was a lovely balcony, looking out onto some beautiful scenery. Very unexpected! We paid for wifi as phone signal was not impressive, but it did not cost much at all. The wifi does log you off if you don't continually use it, which is annoying, but we could cope for our overnight stay. Breakfast was very nice; there was a hot buffet, cereal, pastries, juice, fruit and the staff brought over coffee and tea. We requested a late checkout which the receptionist forgot to put on the system, so we did get a phonecall around 11 but it was fine once I explained.

Good accommodation in Oxford/Cotswolds area

Pros: The price, location, and very adequate amenities.
Room very adequate in a large complex. Quite a walk from reception to the room. Competitively priced. Access easy. Roads not congested. Just north of Oxford and Woodstock etc. Good starting point to access Oxford, Blenheim, Woodstock, and all Cotswolds towns and villages.
