Lovely Victorian restoration

Posted Oct 15, 2015
Pros: Wonderful Victorian era restoration, very comfortable in which to live.
Cons: Host will be providing private baths in all rooms this winter...currently some rooms share.
Location: Historic town with adjacent shopping areas. Fort Steuben restoration well worth a visit. Ohio river town has multiple unique murals. University too
Host very personable, hotel very quiet in historic neighborhood of restored Victorians, easy freeway access. Historic town with unique murals on many buildings, restored Revolutionary War era fort & other sights to visit.

Hi, thanks for your nice review. We have 5 rooms with private bath, so no one needs to share if they don't want to. The benefit of the share bath rooms were that they were a lot less expensive. Our suite also has a Jacuzzi, which is really nice.

Breakfast

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Historic
Cons: Meals
Location: Location was OK Nearby things, had to travel too far to find anything.
I was disappointed that for Breakfast I didn't have a hot meal. The meal was microwaved and the staff just told me to help myself. I would have preferred a hot cooked meal. I only stayed one night then left. I had one night left that I paid for and had to absorb the cost.

Thanks for your review, we provide a breakfast that is available daily from 7:30 to 10am, with a hot cooked item every day. All our breakfasts are prepared at our kitchen and then set up so you can eat when you would like. Im not sure the date of your stay, but that weekend we had well over 100 guests and on each day I had a selection of hot items including: waffles; scrambled eggs and sausages; caramel French toast; an egg cheese sausage bake; or our bananas foster French toast. All of those items require preparation and are baked in an oven or cooked on the stove.

A gem in Steubenville

Posted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: (see above)
Location: Just down the road from Franciscan University of Steubenville
Steubenville is a hardscrabble place, about the last place one would expect to find a great B&B. And yet here it is, on "historic North Fourth Street" which is lined with picturesque Victorian houses in various stages of restoration. The B&B itself consists of two houses, and I stayed in the "Garrett" (circa 1870), beautifully restored with a wrap-around porch, first floor full of antiques, cozy rooms and an immaculate bathroom. And extremely quiet. I know that "restored Victorian" is a bit of a meme when it comes to B&Bs, but this was exceptional even in that context. Not only that, but it's extremely handy to Rt. 22 and the Ohio River bridge over to West Virginia.

Thanks, we maintain 72 to 73 in the summer. So just ask next time if you are too cold or two warm and I can adjust. Thanks

Great for a traveler.

Posted Jul 30, 2012
Pros: The bed was comfortable. I slept well each night.
Cons: The size of the bed was large for the room. Between the wall and the bed seemed to be only two feet.
Location: I saw parts of Steubenville I had never seen before. It was interesting.
This was my first experience with a bed-and-breakfast. I was please with my stay there. The staff was helpful when I needed help. Breakfast was available if I needed it. (I had arrange for meals before getting to Bayberry.)

Hi thanks for choosing to stay with us. Of the 9 rooms that we have you did select the smallest and least expensive room, which is noted on our web site as being most suitable for 1 person. If you choose to stay again, please try one of our larger rooms with a king bed and private bath. Thanks!
