Radisson Blu St. Helen's Hotel Dublin Dirty Socks

Posted Jul 8, 2017
Pros: Building and garden.
Cons: Room cleanliness.
Hi. Me and my family just returned from Radisson Blu St. Helen's Hotel Dublin. After check-in we are founded dirty socks inside the shelf dedicated for ice bucket, drink muddlers and bottle opener. We are complain with duty manager which changed our room, where air condition wasn't worked. We were waiting about 30 minutes for fixed. After another 30 minutes hotel worker knocked to our room an brought to us these dirty socks with explain that we are forgot something in our previous room. Is it not sounds like very creepy and disgusting joke which wasn't funny for us and it shouldn't been happened in five star hotel!!! Main manager send for us wee tiny chocolate box and two mineral waters. We are very very disappointed with resolved of this case. We expect refund, but we got 5 chocolates and they say just sorry about that. We are never go back again!

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful setting

Posted Jul 8, 2017
Pros: The historic part of the building and the gardens create an estate-like setting. Local people book events here which gives the place a special tone.
Cons: I wish the fridge had worked but otherwise found the hotel to be excellent
Location: The hotel is a bit far from the city center; a ten minute walk takes you to a restaurant with excellent food, and the area is green and peaceful.
I booked two nights in a business suite in this hotel for my first two night in a one week stay in Dublin. I found the staff helpful and friendly, and the room excellent. The large gardens are beautiful! The hotel restaurant was fully booked, which was a minor disappointment, but I was directed to a nearby restaurant/pub that had excellent food and also sold some food items from a deli. Unfortunately the refrigerator was not working and it seemed they were not able to fix or replace it, so my milk spoiled. I did not ask about room service, but the breakfast was excellent. The Air Coach makes a stop at this hotel so it is an easy trip from the airport. Buses also connect this area to the downtown if you don't want to pay for taxis. Because I did not have much time on my final day I decided to stay in central Dublin. The hotel I chose was an expensive disappointment and I wish I had returned to this hotel.

Excellent wedding venue.

Posted Jun 4, 2017
Pros: Lovely setting. Easy access to airport bus from outside hotel every 15 mins. Breakfast good.
Cons: More coffee in room only 2 satchels. Food limited after 9.30. No swimming pool on site need to travel and pay to a nearby club.
Location: Shopping centre nearby otherwise a bit out of town.
Great orangery and food. Went for friends wedding and they did a great job. Clean rooms

Beautiful old hotel with modern bedrooms

Posted May 23, 2017
Pros: the building and grounds, comfort and location. Good breakfast and service.
Cons: Service could be very slow in the main hotel. Lights and equipment in the bedroom, e.g. heater and sound system did not function readily.
Location: Brilliant location
The main building is stunning and the grounds lovely.

Elegant, but needs help

Posted May 16, 2017
The location and setting for this hotel are excellent. It's a grand good-looking old hotel that needs a remodel in the worst way, and more importantly has an eager but inexperienced staff that need training on how to serve guests and service a room. In-room dining is a mess, our room 446 had dirty windows which we were told could not be cleaned. Ice machines on three floors did not function properly, all kinds of minor but meaningful things out of repair, like some of our light switches... and the bathroom light would not function without the room lights being on ...bad for middle of the night toilet use. The sofa bed was not a sofa bed, so the staff rolled in a rollaway. Our room was very comfortable and large and overall an excellent value. We would stay there again after a remodel. Again the staff is eager but needs training on the finer points of managing a five star hotel. One employee, Shiva stood out as very helpful...

Gorgeous

Posted May 15, 2017
This hotel is absolutely perfect. So beautiful - the rooms are lovely, very clean, and the beds were so comfortable. I LOVED the pillows and actually asked the staff at check out where I could order some - the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The rest of the hotel is also so beautiful. The grounds are lovely, and the view out our window was gorgeous. It's very quiet - we didn't hear any noise from the street. It is a decent drive out of the downtown area - about 20-25 minutes on the bus, but the bus stop is right outside the hotel. There really isn't much within walking distance - we ended up ordering room service for supper because there really wasn't anywhere to eat within walking distance of the hotel. The food through room service was fantastic, and the chef was kind enough to put together a lovely vegetable plate for our toddler for a very reasonable price. The AirCoach stop is right across from the hotel, and runs pretty frequently. It was very easy to get to and from the hotel, and took about 50 minutes. The wifi wasn't awesome - it cut in and out a lot and was very difficult to check in to our flights as a result. The issue could have been the location of our room, but the connection wasn't good. Overall we would absolutely stay here again. The price was quite reasonable, especially compared to other places we looked at, and the room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The showers are perfect, and everything was very clean. Overall a lovely sta
