Would be a 5 if the bed and pillows were better

Posted Nov 6, 2017
Loved everything about the hotel. We had a corner room with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. The view was of the river and the lift bridge. The location was perfect as we could walk to everything in downtown Stillwater. The waitress we had for breakfast was horrible. Got our meal wrong three times. Never checked back to fill our beverages, got the bill wrong three times as well. The bed was horrible, it was like sleeping on coil springs and the pillows were like chunks of soft sponges. If they would have changed the bed and pillows it would definitely be a 5. The hotel can't control the waitress but they can show switch out a mattress and spend $30.00 on new pillows. So thankful we brought our own from reading other reviews.

Sorry for the problems in the restaurant, I will let the manager know. The pillows we use are Minnesota made Mypillows they are not for everyone. If you stay again please ask for different ones.

Disappointing stay in Stillwater.

Posted Oct 26, 2017
Pros: Close to downtown, able to walk everywhere.
Cons: Most everything.
Location: Nice riverfront location however, with the rates they charge, they should be able to maintain the building and provide a more comforting experience.
The hotel's featured pictures gave the impression of a suave comforting experience; the truth was the opposite. The furniture, including the bed, was terribly uncomfortable: the pillows felt like something you would use on a backpacking trip, not in a hotel. The skylight leaked. Check in was not until 4 pm which gave the impression that a lot of cleaning was being done however, there were still stains and crumbs throughout the room when we walked in.

Nice hotel

Fantastic views right on the river. Irish style phone b and dining right in hotel. Close to many resturants and local shops including wine room and brewery. All within walking distance. Patio dining is beautiful and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Pros: location was outstanding
Cons: although the idea was to give a charm antique vibe it came off scary, musty and old. whirlpool in the room was nasty.
Location: it is perfect in a desired location, next to the river and shops and restaurants.
the hotel had an ideal location if you wanted waterfront and near shops, keep that in mind because it is very loud on weekends with a pub directly below. the place needs an infusion of cash for a remodel, what might have been antique charming is now in need of an update.

Weekend away

Posted Oct 1, 2017
Pros: One of a kind, quaint but comfortable.
Cons: Placing a mirror outside of the bathroom.
Location: Right on the St. Croix river - lots of shopping, walking trails, boat rides...
My sister and I just needed to get away for a weekend. This was the perfect place to walk, talk, relax and explore. It was a memorable weekend.

Thank you for the comment. We use to have bath salts, but found they were tearing up the pump motors.

Hotel was super nice. We had a big hot tub in our room and a fireplace. It was huge! Right in the middle if town and walking distance to everything. Staff were wonderful. Breakfast included with our room.
