My wife and I booked a King bedroom here as part of our stay in Stirling. When we first arrived, we were informed of the paid parking instructions, despite their website and booking information saying parking was included in the room rate. We were luckily able to argue this charge away but just something to be aware of.
The room itself was little more than a box. High ceilings to be sure but not much room around the bed. There was one potlight in the room right above the entry door that shone straight down and didnt illuminate the room at all.
The bathroom was okay but not super clean and only had one small shampoo and one bar of soap for the sink, as well as half a roll of toilet paper and an empty box of tissues. When we asked for conditioner and another bar of soap for the shower, the front desk clerk arrived with 2 more bottles of shampoo and advised they were out of conditioner. When we asked for tissues, we got 2 more rolls of toilet paper.
We were able to see black mold in the grout in the bathroom as well as around the tub.
In-room coffee was 2 packets of instant coffee with a kettle. No climate control in the rooms to speak of either. We were on the ground floor and had to keep windows open all night which exposed us to street level noise.
Overall not a great experience. We feel we overpaid for what we got and would not consider this a 4 star hotel.
