A touch of class, short walk from Princes Street

Posted Mar 19, 2018
Clarendon Apartments are conveniently located in a lovely part of the City, not usually frequented by visitors. Convenient for the botanical gardens, not just the main attractions. A very attractive building well maintained, ideal for a city break.

Great Apartment less than 10 minutes from the Cent

Posted Mar 16, 2018
Having used various Hotels for business trips I selected this Apartment based on reviews and location and I was pleasantly surprised as it exceeded my expectations so much so I have rebooked for this week. My apartment was on the top floor and has amazing views although if you have a walking disability then the staircase would not be for you so select one of the other apartments on the other floors.

Perfect location for the perfect vacation

Posted Jan 5, 2018
Pros: We liked being away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area, but close enough to walk everywhere.
Cons: This is nitpicking, but the mattress was a bit worn and one could feel the individual coils. Elderly might have problems with the many stairs.
Location: The location was perfect - literally a stones throw from Dean Bridge, which is the gateway to Old Town Edinburgh and all of its sights.
So much has already been written about the Clarendon Apartments, and I can personally confirm the accuracy of the positive reviews. After spending an entire week, between Christmas and New Years, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when I visit Edinburgh. We had the Eton room which is on the second floor above the owner's quarters. The room faced the back of the building with charming views of a well-manicured courtyard and other historic row houses. This is a preferred view versus the street side in my opinion. There were three of us and the apartment included a comfortable sectional sofa with pull out bed, as well as a separate king size bedroom (two twins pushed together). There is also a small kitchenette with everything you need to prepare a simple meal. The bathroom is small but functional. The water pressure for the shower is perfect and the hot water is truly hot and plentiful. There is even a towel warmer. There are wood floors throughout, radiator heating, and floor to ceiling windows in the living room. We also appreciated the small details like thick baseboards and intricate crown molding. The best way to describe the décor is modern Ikea meets the 18th century - and it works. It is also quiet. We could not hear our neighbors or the street traffic. The floorboards creaked a bit, but that is part of its charm. The thick shutters on the windows made for a very dark interior when sleeping. We slept very well, in fact we overslept regularly.

Lovely place, woken up early every day

Posted Dec 23, 2017
Pros: It’s modern and very well appointed.
Cons: Sound proofing.
Location: Close to princes street and loads of places to eat.
It’s a lovely place however we were woken up between 5:30 - 6:30 every morning by the people in the apartment above. We could hear constant footsteps and their conversation while they were having breakfast with their young children! It spoiled the weekend away as we came back exhausted.

Weekend trip

Posted Dec 18, 2017
Pros: Everything it was perfect for what we wanted.
Cons: I will have to think about that !!!,!
Location: This property is an easy ten minute walk into the west end of Princes Street. Edinburgh is your oyster with everything within walking distance.
I had arranged a weekend in Edinburgh for my wife and I to attend a concert. It turned out to be a busy weekend an difficult to get accommodation, however I managed to find this diamond in a sea of mediocrity. We arrived on Friday afternoon to be met by Billy who owns the property he told us all about the property and the conversions. Our apartment was the Learmonth on the top floor on its own with fabulous views over Auld Reekie particularly to the Firth of Forth. The apartment comprised of a hallway linking the spacious bedroom and bathroom to the lounge and kitchen area. It was furnished immaculately with a very comfy bed.Breakfast cereal, tea and coffee and a fully equipped kitchen, even milk in the fridge. It was so quiet and relaxing we absolutely loved it we could easily have stayed in all weekend !! I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and it would easily be my first choice over any hotel in the area.To quote big Arnie, “I’ll be back “
