Nice hotel overlooking the harbor

Pros: Our private patio outside our room, but not the weathered Adirondack chair. Nice handicapped-accessible bathroom. Breakfast venue was fascinating.
Cons: Hard to change much as it is built on a rocky escarpment
Location: We just stayed here and left the next morning after breakfast.
Thought not really set up for the handicapped, we managed here. The area is very rocky and hilly, but there is a parking garage under the hotel, and an elevator. Can't speak for the hotel restaurant, had little appetite. The breakfast buffet is offered in a charming old home adjacent to the hotel - fabulous ceramic fireplaces, lushly furnished like someone's wealthy private home, overlooking the harbor again.

Serene relaxing stay with sea views

Serene relaxing stay, stylish quality decor, extremely clean, lovely powerful shower, friendly helpful staff, we loved the beautiful wide views of the bay and catching the ferry in and out of the city centre each day, yummy breakfasts on the lawn overlooking the sea. We would definitely stay here again.

Great waterfront hotel

Absolutely loved staying at this hotel

I wanted a place that was cozy, quiet, comfortable, and relaxing while in Stockholm, and Hotel J was all of those things and more. I simply loved staying here. It's a beautiful hotel with a lot of character in a peaceful, quiet setting. I was there in winter and I'm sure it's an even better place to stay during the summer, but I never wanted to leave the gorgeous, comfy lobby when the fireplace was raging. The wifi was excellent throughout the hotel and the daily breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in years. On top of everything else, the staff was exceedingly polite and helpful. The only drawback to the hotel was that it's a little out of the way and there's not a lot nearby in the way of food options or grocery stores (or anything really), but it wasn't *that* bad -- having to take a ferry to get to the main parts of the city was actually kind of fun. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We're going back!

Pros: Log fire, candles everywhere, great breakfast, you don't feel as though you're in a city.
Cons: Better sound insulation between rooms, pillows were really soft and they had no firmer ones.
Location: Best way to get into Stockholm is on the route 80 ferry which stops about 200m away. Note that the other (bigger) ferry goes from 100m further.
Great ambience, incredibly helpful and courteous staff, log fire, honesty bar, ships drifting past. You need to go!

Stockholm Vacation

A very nice hotel with a picturesque setting on the main Stockholm canal. Hotel has easy public water taxi access to Gamla Stan and Stockholm tourist areas. Staff is very friendly and all speak fluent English.
