Excellent hotel in a trendy suburb of Stockholm

Posted Jan 1, 2017
Pros: Overall positive Yuletide break. Good work environment via comp. high speed WiFi.
Cons: More tables in child free zone at breakfast Upstairs room available but inconvenient.
Location: Suburban location. Many restaurants, food marts and other shops in easy walking distance.
After being up all night on long haul flight I was granted early access to my bed after an hour's wait. I was not allowed to have breakfast without a stiff charge on arrival but did enjoy a comp. hot chocolate. I had an excellent view from an upper floor. The room was clean but Spartan. No microwave. No minifridge. (Allowed to store my meds. in front desk fridge and access each and day w/o charge.) Room was quiet. Shower was excellent. TV was not working properly on arrival day but renovated and upgraded 2 or 3 days later. Black out drape was broken but also fixed a few days later. Housekeeping was excellent. Lock box was provided, spacious enough for laptop. Received a comp tiny box of chocolates with a kind note since a regular long stay customer. Fitness room comp. on top floor. Sauna there also.(d to be quietest. However usually great. Menu includes salmon only on weekdays. Banana access greatly improved since last stay a few months prior. Pickled herring no longer on menu. Cappuccino costs extra and is produced by a small machine on bar. No regular cappuccino machine but this is not Italy. Many parents have difficult time or disinterest in keeping their kids from reeking havoc. Easy access to a tram, bus and onward to the subway making it easy to reach downtown& other tourist attractions economically. Front desk & other staff tolerant of my broken Swedish

Great Family Hotel

Posted Oct 9, 2016
Pros: The breakfast buffet is fantastic. The rooms were comfortable.
Cons: Not many restaurants near the hotel.
Location: It was nice to walk to the waterfront.
This hotel is in a great location, and is a close ferry ride or tram ride to the city center. It was a great family-oriented hotel and staff were very helpful with specific requests. We will definitely return.

Excellent but expensive hotel in a trendy site.

Posted Aug 27, 2016
Pros: Room size. Free breakfast buffet.
Cons: Fitness room. Lower rates.
Location: Easy access to town center. Great shops and restaurants in easy walking distance.
Arrived early. Waited for room to clear. Gained entry early eventually. Denied breakfast but granted coffee during ca. 90 min wait. Efficient reception agents. Wonderful bathroom. No minifridge but granted cold storage for medicine by reception. Room safe and black out curtains repaired efficiently during stay. Free fast WiFi. No microwave. Ice machines on alternate floors. Noisy neighbors at times. Breakfast room sometimes overwhelmed by crowds even if visited during non peak periods. Breakfast crew struggled but generally coped well. Breakfast buffet open 7 AM to 10 to 11 AM. Xerox of NY Times in single copy but font very fine after size reduction by photocopying and v. difficult to read. Good selection of foods on breakfast buffet. Banana's were sometimes available. No herring anymore. Rarely salmon or lax available. No cappuccino but of course, this hotel is not in Italy. No separate area for little kids who occasionally ran wild. Fitness room and sauna on top floor. Equipment needs an upgrade. Great view. Easy access to city center via tram, subway or taxi. Most staff were new since my last visit 8 months prior. Room rate very high in summer.

Tedious but ultimately early check in

Posted Aug 16, 2016
Pros: Location. Upper level room on 14th floor with great view.
Cons: Breakfast sometimes overwhelmed with some items on buffet taking a long while to replenish. No herring any more. Banana's only sometimes available.
Location: Suburban environment in trendy district easy commute to center via tram, bus, subway &/or ferry.
Early check in granted after 45 min wait after long haul sleepless night from JFK NYC. Baggage storage provided. Breakfast denied but coffee offered and accepted. Room spacious but lacked minifridge and microwave. Gym needs upgrade. Shower wonderful. View from 14th floor great. House keeping excellent. I visit this hotel frequently for long stays mainly due to its location. Personnel has turned over almost completely since last 3 wk. stay in Dec. 2015.

Dear Thomas, Thank you so much for your high rating and for taking the time to review your stay with us! Lovely to hear that you really enjoyed the view from your room on the 14th floor, it truly is stunning! We try to change up the breakfast buffet depening on season and also for some variety from day to day, so herring and also salmon is back on the buffet in the autumn and I hope other fruits were offered on the days when there were no Banana´s. We always try to accommodate early check-ins when we can, but when we are fully booked it´s sometimes not possible since we need to await check-out and cleaning from the night before. Since the check-in starts at 3 pm, breakfast is not included on the day of arrival, but of course there is no problem to add the buffet to your reservation on site. Thanks again Thomas and we hope to see you back here at Park Inn in the future! Kind regards,

Nice hotel close to tram

Posted Jun 22, 2016
Pros: Our room had a nice view, on the upper floors and was quiet. Good breakfast was provided.
Cons: If only a bagged breakfast can be provided for guests checking out before breakfast is served.
Location: There is not too much to do nearby but one can always take public transport to attractions such as the Vas Museum, Gamla Stan, etc.
The hotel is a bit far from town but with close proximity to the Sikla Kaj tram station. The neighbourhood is quiet and has a supermarket (Coop) close by. However, there is just a hamburger place nearby. There are a few restaurants one tram stop away in Luma. If you want to go to the city central, you need to take the tram and then transfer to the metro in Gullmasplan. If you need to take public transport to the airport, plan 2 hours ahead i.e. from tram to Gullsmaplan, then from metro to Centralen, then commuter train to Marsta and then bus 583 to Arlanda! There is an airport express at the city central. That means you still need to take the tram and metro to Centralen for the airport express train! Apart from the location of the hotel, everything is great.

Dear Greg, First of all, thank you so much for your nice review! So good to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, in particular the view and the breakfast. We do have an early bird alternative where you can make a sandwich, have some fruit and coffee to take away when leaving before the breakfast buffet is open. So my apologies if this information was not given to you on site. Besides taking the tram and subway to the city centre I can also recommend the ferry boat, leaving from Lumabryggan just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The easiest and most beautiful way to go into the city centre. When going to Arlanda airport without a lot of changing transportation, I would take the tram to Årstaberg and change to the commuter train that takes you directly to Arlanda. The trip takes just over an hour and with just one change. Hope you really enjoyed your Stockholm stay and have a lovely Summer! Kind regards, Py Hedfors, Revenue Manager

Nice hotel, nice neighbourhood

Posted Mar 8, 2016
Very nice and friendly and careful staff at reception . We met also a very nice girl (Carmen?) at restaurant who helped us. Nice and quiet neighbourhood, not in downtown, but tram and bus station just round the corner. In 10 minutes you reach Gullmarspan metro station. For who are interested, at the side of hotel there are Lidl and Coop supermarkets. Very good breakfast, plenty of choices.

I have personally greeted Carmen from you and she was very happy to hear your kind words. Thank you also for the kind words regarding the breakfast, I will surely talk to the kitchen about this, it is always nice to hear positive thoughts on your work. Typically priced accommodation in trendy "oasis"

Posted Jan 1, 2016
Pros: Staff.
Cons: Gym.
Location: Restaurants and shops. Suburban location. City center easily reach by mass transit.
Front desk helpful. Housekeeping outstanding. Gym sub par. Breakfast adequate even though some offerings such as herring, bananas, English morning newspaper (deleted in favor of a web copy) have been scaled back. Should consider a separate section for kids and their families. Currently the kids run wild with little parental supervision at breakfast. Excellent views especially from higher floors. Internet reception was excellent. Television mysteriously became suddenly non functional thrice but fixed promptly all three times. Little storage space for clothes. No in room mini fridge or microwave. In room safe battery case was broken but hotel supplied new batteries and I taped them firmly in place fixing the problem. The shower was excellent with great water pressure. This was one of many long stays. I was not disappointed. Good value for this metro area.
