very disapointing

Posted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Next to freeway.
Cons: Staff training, and clean the place up.
We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 15 years, it used to be part of the Choice system. This time we were treated rudely when we checked in and staff tried to make us pay a security deposit for cleaning on top of our paid reservation. When we entered the room the first thing we saw was a loveseat that was filthy and had many grease stains and they wanted us to pay a security deposit? Ceiling over shower stained and loose, obviously they had water damage from an upstairs room. Very disapointed with the current condition of the hotel. I can see why it is no longer part of the Choice Chain.

gross

Cons: A deep clean. Use of air conditioning and fresh air to improve the smell of the room, instead of using too much air freshener.
The room was grungy--dirty walls, carpet, etc. There was a lampshade in the middle of the floor, but no lamp for it. The deadbolt lock on the door was broken.

Conveniently located, clean, with friendly staff.

I was on a business trip, so the hotel met all my requirements. Quiete, staff on call to help if needed, everything worked in the room, and the room was comfortable. I always like to have decently fast wifi, a refrigerator and a microwave, all of which were available. Good hotel!

clean and pleasant

Posted Sep 14, 2013
Pros: Man at the desk was dealing with a credit card problem when I walked in. He still took a moment to great me and apologized for the delay.
Location: Hungry Bear Restaurant.
The room did not look as snazzy as the photos on the web site, but it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room seemed very quite.

Great Place

Posted Dec 6, 2012
DH and I spent one night there. The room was clean, Nancy behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfortable. There was a fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board which were not listed on the amenities list. Not a 4-5 star but it served our purpose and we would come again. Didn't think much of their continental breakfast so we went across the street to the Black Bear Diner (formerly Perkos)

Very disappointed after reading other reviews

Posted Jul 24, 2012
Pros: Hotel Manager trying to help
Cons: Smell of smoke and grubbiness of the room.
I was surprised by the condition of the room after reading everyone else's reviews. The first room we were given smelled like a bar and was not very clean with cracking paint in the bathroom. The manager was very polite and showed me three other rooms before we found one that only had a hint of smoke smell. The manager was was very polite about taking me to several rooms and finally adding an air purifier in our room when we went out. When we returned we saw several guest standing outside of their rooms smoking either with the door open or next to the air conditioning unit for the room which pulled the smoke into the room. So I give high marks to the hotel for doing their best to accommodation us, but low marks for a comfortable sleep in a room with the smell of smoke and only being moderately clean.
