A Plymouth jem

Posted Sep 25, 2017 on Hotels
I arrived early, and after calling a few weeks before my trip, the room was ready for me. Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean room, T.V, tea and coffee. Breakfast was lovely, full English with other choices available. Great value for money would definitely stay there again. A real little jem in Plymouth.

Good location and price

Great staff, breakfast, and service. Had strange smell when you enter the room. Didn't like that the whole bathroom became wet when taking the shower.

Brand new wet room could have been smell. Newly decorated. The reason the bathroom floor was wet is because it is a 'wet room'. The flooring is specially laid and designed so as to let floor get wet. Wet rooms also have non slip flooring and therefore safe, if that was a concern.

Great hotel for visiting Plymouth

Posted Aug 16, 2017
Pros: The proprietors Paula was really friendly and helpful
Cons: Couldn't fault hotel in any way
Location: Plymouth Hoe, historic dockyards, home to Beryl Cook exhibition, lots of events throughout year including Plymouth firework championships in August
I took my husband to the Plymouth Hoe fireworks championships for his birthday and stayed at the Alma hotel that was both convenient for the Hoe and peaceful for a relaxing two day break. The hotel is situated approximately 0.6 m from the centre of town and a frequent bus service right outside runs to the town centre and the Hoe, or if you prefer walking, a very pleasant and straightforward walk through town. The proprietors Tony and Paula were very welcoming, friendly and most helpful. The hotel was pristine, wonderfully comfortable and very quiet. Really loved our room and fabulous bathroom with shower and bath. The breakfast was top notch with both a full English or a really good vegetarian alternative. Can't get much better than this and with free parking space outside

Short Break in Alma Guest House

Posted Jul 8, 2017
Pros: Very friendly family-run business; not 'in your face' but one only had to ask for somethng and it was taken care of. We liked the electronic door key.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Location good. Convenient bus service into and out of town.Parking for 3 cars in the forecourt. Also free street parking in the road alongside.
Wonderful stay, nothing too much trouble, breakfast great. Lovely big towels all fluffy and soft to use. Will definitely return when down that way again

Many thanks for your lovely review. Pleased to read that everything was to your liking. Also pleased that you mentioned the parking, as we are very fortunate to have free private parking. Not every B & B has the luxury of free parking. Very pleased to hear you will want to return and look forward to your return to Plymouth. Kind Regards from staff at Alma Lodge.

Great Guest House Plymouth.

We would definitely recommend this very friendly and spotlessly clean Guest House. Idealy located with ample secure parking, with a very good full English Breakfast or a varied selection Breakfast of your choice. Will definitely be returning again, could not fault it from check in to check out
