Sad & Disappointing

I travel to the Stowe area regularly on business and have enjoyed many of the local inns and resorts. I looked forward to trying the Stoweflake with its spa offerings. Sad to say it was very disappointing. My room and accommodations resembled a decent motel in dire needs of major renovations. The closet doors won't fully close and badly banged up with numerous paint scrapes, lightswitch had buttons popping out and outlined in grime & dirt. The jacuzzi bath's jet nozzles were gross with soap scum rings everywhere. And the ice dispenser, omg, were absolutely disgusting!; the unit exterior was so unsanitary that it resembled an exterior ice dispenser from a cheap roadside motel. I was so appalled I went straight back to my room with an empty bucket.
It was clear that the hotel invests its $ in keeping the first floor and reception nice, in light of the spa's presence. But I was totally disgusted and prepared to give the hotel staff an earful. At check-out, the only comments I received was "Checking out?" and "Have a nice day". No inquiry into how my room was or how they could've made the stay more satisfactory, like most other well-run hospitality establishments. I left in disbelief, thinking again & again that I could've stayed at Topnotch for almost the same price. Far & above, the worst hotel choice I've ever made. My recommendation? If you're looking for a hotel with nice accommodations, refine touches, no details unattended, then steer far far away from the Stoweflake.
