Loved the view.Posted Oct 4, 2015
Pros: The pool and the hot tub were the best that we had of the 4 hotels we stayed at this trip. We would stay here again.
This hotel had the best view, we were on the top floor, so we had the curtain open all night and watched the moon and the lights on the island during the night. They had the best breakfast of the 4 hotels we stayed at this trip and the other guests were enjoying themselves, also.

Pros: Location and size of rooms
Location: Loved it. We travelled through the UP and went to the locks from there.
Rooms were very large and enjoyed the beach location.

Beautiful viewsPosted Oct 1, 2015
We really enjoyed the hotel views, breakfast sausages and eggs, the pool and hot tub and the friendly staff. We recommend the chocolate shop down the street.

Pros: Location and rate
Cons: Updates and re-invest into the interior hotel, rooms, and room furnishings. Mattresses were very weak.
Hotel, rooms, and room furnishings need updating... Quite disappointed from online reviews and pictures. The location and view is terrific. Cost was good.

Awesome staff and facilityPosted Sep 18, 2015
We were able to get checked in early. All the staff very pleasant and helpful. Nice pool, hot tub and sauna. Amazing view of sunrise over the water from our room's patio. Great hot breakfast. I haven't been so pleased with an accommodation in quite awhile.

So nice we stayed twice!Posted Sep 4, 2015
We stayed her the night before going over to Mackinac Island. The staff was all super friendly. The breakfast was quick and sufficient. The rooms were awe some with the beautiful view of the lake. It was so nice, we stayed parked here and stayed here again when we came off the island 2 days later. I would definately recommend this hotel. Oh, and don't forget to buy the coupon to get 2 for the price of 1 on the Star ferry.

My boyfriend and I took a quick Mackinac Island getaway to round out the summer and this was the perfect hotel for us! The view was gorgeous, the price was right, it was within convenient distance to the ferry, parking was free and plentiful, and they offered a coupon book (although we only used the buy one get one free round trip ferry ticket). Breakfast wasn't very good but it was complimentary. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a few nights.

Not impressedPosted Aug 29, 2015
Hotel is old and just not up to my standards by far. Good luck with the continental breakfast. Was not good at all. Do yourself a favor and stay at the best western down the street. Spent 3 nights at each place and would recommend the best western way above this hotel.

Hotel with charm in decent distance to the city.Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, shower working great.
Cons: More breakfast alternatives would have been nice - and maybe some recycling containers for the plastic stuff.
Location: About 2 miles to walk or drive to the city part of St. Ignace where you can get a nice Whitefish. More a stop-through to other destinations on the UP.
Walking through the halls I felt reminded on the kind of inns, school classes in Germany go to. Every door has its own sign made from wood with an animal on it. The room itself is decent sized and contains the standard equipment. The bathroom sink is located in the main room, which was not unpractical since we had to share the bathroom with four people. The facilities were working and everything seemed clean, but not overly luxurious. The rooms are not well isolated noise-wise, meaning when somebody walks in the room above you, you will probably know, but this did not happen very often, so it did not really disturb me. At about six in the morning the seagulls in front of our window got in some kind of fight, that was really noisy, but if you want to sleep this close to one of the Great Lakes, you have to be fine with something like that. The breakfast was okay, probably great if you really like sugar :-) You really had to look for healthy alternatives but fresh bananas were also available as well as non-fat yoghurt and eggs and raisin bran. Everything is packed in little plastic containers so you will generate some trash here and it was more than a bit chaotic. Overall an okay hotel for the price, nothing great, but clean and friendly.

Nice hotel near the beach is the best description. Nothing fancy. Pool was good sized and room was average. Price made it worthwhile since we didn't anticipate staying long.
