Terrible hotel

When we first checked in she was really nice Because we got there very early and she let us check in earlier than we were supposed to. She never once told us anything just gave us our room keys, didn't let us know where breakfast was or when. Website says no pets yet she had at pet in the office barking very loudly. The bottom of the pool was very gross so we didn't even want to go swimming in it. The website also says complimentary continetal breakfast yet there was just some small donuts and some yogurt. The room wasn't very clean, the styrofoam cups weren't wrapped they were just sitting out we had to wash them in order to use them. When we checked out the lady wasn't even there so we just dropped our keys off at the desk and left. There was also bugs in our room, hairs in the shower to staff isn't doing their job of cleaning, blood under the bed, boogers under the bed also and the chain lock for the door wasn't even on it. Overall our stay was very disappointing and I well not be returning. It was a waste of money.

Pros: The room was exactly as pictured on the website - more space to move around than in a more expensive hotel we'd stayed in previously, and there was a mirror, sink and hairdryer outside the bathroom, which was a perfect setup for us and our adult son.
Cons: Towels were very thin, but they worked, and the rest was good. We were happy with this hotel for its price.
Location: Just a mile, via downtown, to Shepler's Ferry to Mackinac Island, so we could walk. Just 3.5 miles to Mill Creek State Park and Adventure Tour.

problems with our stay

Location: Macinac City has plenty of shopping areas, Lighthouse tours, and Macinaw Island which is accessable by Boat, casinos, and plenty of dining areas
The outdoor pool as well as the indoor pool were not in working order, nor was the spa. Our room phone was not in service. The heat lamp in the bathroom was not working nor was the bathroom exhaust fan. Lightbulbs above the room mirror were burnt out. Due to the time of the year we went, we expected to use the indoor pool or at least told that it was out of service I feel we should have been reimbursed the problems we .incurred.

They tried

First of all I'm pretty sure this was not the hotel I registered at on trip advisor. That being said, the motel is a bit run down. Hot tub not working and pool was green. Breakfast very sparse (cold cereal, toast). First room we checked into smelled like cig smoke but they willing switched rooms. Overall was not impressed.

Our hot tub is fully operational. The outdoor pool is closed for the season after Labor Day. Our breakfast includes yogurt, assorted cereals, fruits, coffee cake, muffins, assorted breads, bagels, oatmeal , milk and coffee. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms and we have not come across one that smells like smoke.

Beds were not comfortable. hot tub was empty. Continental breakfast was very poor

Everyone has their own comfort level. Sorry you did not appreciate our new beds. The hot tub was damaged by someone couple of days ago and we are in the process of getting it repaired. Our continental breakfast is just that continental.
