Nice hotelPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Nice location, excellent dining, nice pool
Cons: Rooms are a bit antiquated; pull-out bed was impossible to sleep on.
Location: Perfect location.
Nicely located, a bit away from the hubbub of the boat docks. Rooms could use a refurbishing, but the pool is great. Excellent dining.

Wonderful old feel to the hotel, both positive (classic decor) and negative (small room, old t.v.). Great location.

Overall happyPosted Aug 21, 2015 on Hotels
The room wasn't as clean as I would've liked i.e. the carpet was old and beat up a little bit. The air conditioner in the room was loud. The bathroom is pretty small. The view out the window wasn't so great but then again I guess because we got a deal through Trivago what can you expect. The hotel itself was very nice and the food was good. The location was excellent and I really enjoyed sitting in front of the fire outdoors on a warm summer night. That made to stay totally worth it. I was overall happy with with it because of the good deal I got.

Say NO to the 4th FloorPosted Aug 19, 2015 on Hotels
We booked a room with 2 queen beds, when we checked in they gave us a room in the attic. No kidding (you take the elevator to the 3rd floor & then a flight of stairs to the 4th Fl) which was 1 bed and tiny and cramped. There was no way we were staying there. We complained and they moved us to a room like we originally booked on the 3rd fl, it was OK. Dining room nice, rooms & baths need major renovations. It's a good thing you don't spend much time in the room! Let's just say I wouldn't stay there again.

Island House - Island GemPosted Aug 19, 2015 on Hotels
Beautiful hotel overlooking the water. Just outside of the Historic District, so a 5 minute walk to town, but not all the noise and confusion of the in-town hotels. Wonderful alternative to the Grand Hotel, particularly when traveling with children.

Hotel within walking distance from ferry stationPosted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: It's on the main strip and close to everything. I like the attitude of the staff (except the lady I the hotel restaurant).
Cons: attitude of the lady running the hotel restaurant.
Location: Beautiful Island!
Beautiful and historic hotel from the outside. Inside needs some updating. The room was comfortable, but very small and not worth the rate that's charged. No modern amenities in the room, like a mini fridge etc and most things that you expect to already be there you have to ask the front desk for (i.e. iron, ice bucket etc). The walls are paper thin. The staff is very willing to do anything that you ask, but they are never at the front desk or the bell stand. I got better results to call them on the phone.

Vintage hotel with an awesome viewPosted Aug 13, 2015
The hotel is quaint and charming. It is away from rhe bustle of the shops. The staff in the restaurant and housekeeping are very friendly. Coupons for 'free' bike rental are deceiving. Only 1 hour free if you rent for 3 hours. Bike rental across the street had much better service. Breakfast was great. Seattle's best coffee and Belgian waffles hit the spot. There are a lot of stairs and inclines to get into the hotel. Bathrooms are tiny. Not good for those in wheel hair or walker. Loved sitting on the porch. Would definitely stay here again.
