The hotel was horrible!Posted Sep 18, 2014
The hotel was over priced. There were flies and earwigs in both rooms that were booked. The bathroom door barely closed. Staff wasn't very friendly. When we went to check out we stood in the office for 20 minutes before anyone came inside to help. Would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again with my family.

Good locationPosted Sep 15, 2014
The room I had at Knights Inn of Mackinaw City was the smallest room I have ever stayed in, this would not have been a problem in itself but the dropped ceiling made it feel even smaller. The room was clean but so old that it felt dirty. The weather was chilly and the only source of heat was the bathroom ceiling fan.

Poorly managePosted Aug 8, 2014
Location: Close to the bridge, park and downtown.
Hotel staff doesn't know how to run this business, the room looks clean but when I open the bed sheets I found toilet paper under the sheet. We stayed for 2 days our bed sheets was not changed and arranged properly, trash hasn't been picked up. If you only looking for a quick rest from a long day travel, this is the place with reasonable rate but if you are looking for a relaxing vacation I suggest to pay extra and go somewhere else.

Great staff, disappointing roomPosted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: The staff.
Cons: The motel.
Location: Audie's (next door) was very good for dinner/bfast.
The staff of the motel? Fabulous! The room/facilities? Awful. The motel needs to be refurbished; there were dead bugs everywhere; it was pretty icky.

Typical up north motelPosted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Close to everything, can leave the car at the motel and walk everywhere
Cons: beds and breakfast don't advertise breakfast if you aren't going to have more than bread for toast
Location: Bridge, ferry's, restaurants, shops and fort
I knew ahead of time that this place was not going to be the most up to date comfortable hotel in Mackinaw so I was not disappointed. We stayed here for the price, my wife and I took a budget vacation to Mackinaw for 3 nights and spent a total of about $600. There are a lot of choices in Mackinaw City to stay once you get up there you realize that a lot of them aren't even on Expedia, there are a ton of mom and pop motels and this is one. Here are the facts, small room, small bathroom, no breakfast(well bread, jam and homemade cookies) it smells, everything is outdated(tube style T.V) uncomfortable bed(1980's floral comforter) stained carpet, awesome restaurant next door, short walk to downtown, bridge, fort and ferry, right off I-75. Oh ya and while we were there the bathroom light burnt out and the maid wanted us to change it. Would we stay there again probably not, would we go there with are kids NO, but if your looking to get away cheap and know what to expect its not that bad.

Personal GetawayPosted Jul 21, 2014 on Hotels
O.K. for a one night stay. Clean and comfortable bed. Friendly staff, however, absolutely no drawer space. very limited hanging space, no bathroom extractor fan and the continental breakfast was deplorable. One knife, run out of butter, little to eat. Housekeeping : Our bed was "spread up ". Standard room was advertized "opening on to a balcony.. Not true. Small enclosed room. Our stay was three nights. will not return. Experienced traveler.

Book with Hotels.com and get the worst roomPosted Jul 20, 2014 on Hotels
I believe they gave us the worst rooms they had because it was booked through hotels.com. This has happened several times lately. The room and the service were terrible because the hotel didn't get their full rate. We had 2 rooms above the office that had sliding doors to enter the room. The door opened very badly and was also hard to lock and unlock. The curtain covering the door was shredded on the right hand side. The toilet water was turned off. The shower handle was falling apart, and I couldn't get it to work at all, until I was told to "pull on it really hard". I thought it was going to fall apart. We stayed 3 nights and the room wasn't made up on the 2nd night. I was out of it from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm. They had carpenters there making improvements, and they even started hammering at 7:00 am on Friday morning. I was traveling with a friend and needed two rooms so I could get some sleep. I was looking for 2 single for the price of a double somewhere else. I found it here, but the place was bad. Maybe they should not rent the rooms until they are remodeled, instead of just giving them to hotels.com customers because they don't get their full rate. Had a great time in town, but next time will stay someplace else.
