Sham!Posted Oct 29, 2015
Cons: Sell it to someone who knows the hospitality business and rip it down and build from the ground up.
Did not get the room we booked. Drain pipe running through the middle of the over grown beach. Toilet would not flush with out getting clogged, repeatedly. Dry wall did not go to ceiling or floor in many spots. Tub/shower was disgusting and we skipped bathing until we got to lake Michigan. The hot breakfast was microwave sausages and make your own waffles. We were supposed to have a king suite and had a twin bed two room cabin that was in brutal condition. It had been renovated by slapping up dry wall and paint without even proper installation leaving pipes exposed as well as studs. Electrical boxes sticking out too far or face plates too small for the over sized boxes. The walk from the parking lot to our cabin was about 100 feet of overgrown grass which was real pleasant to walk through in the rain. This place was a joke.

False advertising? MisleadingPosted Oct 26, 2015
They advertise you get a free continental breakfast. They don't tell you until you check in that you have to drive to another hotel to get it! The breakfast was very poor quality, we had to wait almost an hour to get coffee! They ran out of food every day. There was no variety. And the worst part for us was that the breakfast room was NOT handicap accessible! We get a first floor hotel room because going up and down stairs is very hard. The breakfast room was up two flights of stairs.

Many rooms with lake / Grand Hotel view.Posted Oct 13, 2015
Pros: Very close to shopping and ferry rides over to Mackinaw Island. Also close to many nice restaurants. Nice rooms, friendly motel staff. Nice breakfast
Cons: Check-in time if I remember correctly is 4:00pm. It would be nice if you could check-in somewhere between 2:00-3:00 like most hotels.
Location: On the water's edge, can see ships, Island, sea gulls will fly right up to your balcony if you offer food. Close to ferry and shopping.
There are many rooms with lake view that also allow a beautiful sight at night of the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. Rooms seem to be up to date and clean. Stay also allows for nice, free breakfast with waffles, eggs, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, etc. along with lots of drink choices. It has a detached pool and hot tub that is in a separate building in the center of the motel area but is nice.

Close to the beach.Posted Oct 8, 2015
Pros: The beds were very comfortable. And the location was great.
Cons: The bathroom needs to be updated. The tile on the walls is discolored and old. Also the carpet needs to be updated.
Location: Location is near the restaurants and night activity. Right on the beach. Can see the bridge and piers from the balcony, also Mackinac Island lights.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I wanted beach front, and it was on the beach. Walked out of our room directly. We picked this hotel based on the location and price. Both we good. We then were able to book our ferry to Mackinac Island directly at the front desk and received good information from the staff.

Beautiful view of Mackinac Bridge and IslandPosted Sep 28, 2015
Cons: New door card programmer needed.
Beautiful view of Mackinac Bridge and Island when we arrived after dark. Hotel cards did not work to enter either of the two rooms. Besides that, the all Jamaican staff were hospitable, kept very clean rooms, and responded to our requests immediately. Lovely stay.

stay away until cleaned and updatedPosted Sep 23, 2015
It was ok but would not do it again. Free breakfast was a joke. Everything worn out and needing replaced. No lock on sliders flimsy drop down bar which was easy to bend. Beach area was swampy rooms questionable cleaning lots of spiders in corners and ants on floors mildew in bathroom

Hotel room that has seen better daysPosted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: The breakfast area was large with a decent selection. The indoor pool was a bit cool for my needs, but the hot tub was nice.
Location: Close to two boat docks to Mackinac Island. Lacking in budget friendly restaurants.
Our hotel room is in need of some upgrades. The shower was tedious in setting a good temperature and the shower head was low. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were warped and stained. The refrigerator froze our food, even at the lowest temperature setting. The room had a musty odor.

Location was great. But I think staff was terrible. When I arrived, staff looked unwilling to check in. In the fridge, there were left over. And when I couldn't open the front door, staff saw I was trying again and again, but she hadn't opened until I asked to open. I never experienced such a service. I won't come back again.

Overpriced and noisyPosted Sep 10, 2015
Pros: Convenient to bridge, less expensive than other hotels in the same area
Cons: Decor, soundproofing
Great location (convenient to bridge) but too expensive. No microwave in room, just coffeemaker & fridge. Because it is near the ferry docks, there were LOTS of families with children, and therefore LOTS of noise (running, shouting, etc.). My experience began with sullen and unenthusiastic desk staff and key cards that didn't work, a room apparently wallpapered in a huge hurry and in the dark (paper didn't meet the ceiling by at least 1/2" all the way around the room, paper not cut at room corners - installer just kept going, and apparently was trying to stretch the glue as paper was peeling in several places), then expanded to raucous kids overhead and outside. The complimentary breakfast was not good (barely warm maufactured sausage patties, mass-produced biscuits, watery gravy, cold cereal), and I was glad I was only staying one night. I will not be back, and in fact will be suspicious of the Quality Inn brand based on this experience.
