Wonderful B & B.

Posted Sep 14, 2016
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Stranraer is a good sized town with lots of restaurants. It is located close to both Stena and P & O ferries and within easy reach Ayrshire
We stayed here on a stopover going to Ireland on the ferry. We received a lovely welcome from our host. The room was spacious with a huge bathroom with a lovely walk-in shower. The bed was really comfy affording a really good sleep. it would be a very good base for exploring the area.

Great location to catch the ferry in Cairnryan and for restaurants. Lynn is most accommodating and personable.

Aussie Travellers

Pros: Service & cleanliness
Cons: Stairs & a slight wait for hot water in the shower.
Location: Location was about 300 metres from the town centre
Yes, we had 3 nights at Fernlea B&B & I would recommend it to anyone, looking for a friendly, clean & well managed establishment. The only slight problem is that there are 17 stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. It is an old building, but well modernised & the owner could not do enough for us & it is a central location.

Fine B&B in Stranraer, Scotland

Posted Aug 22, 2011
Many Fernlea guests come for just a night before taking the ferry to Ireland, so it's part of a large B&B district in Stranraer. If the other B&Bs are better than this, we'd be surprised. Our room was comfortable (with the most gorgeous antique wardrobe we've every used), the en-suite facilities up to date, and the Scottish hospitality superb.
