Hotel close to tram stop

We stayed for 3 nights. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel could do with an update, it's decor is very old. So if you're after modern and fresh - this hotel isn't for you. The beds are a little firmer than other hotels that I have visited, so it wasn't the most comfortable sleep, but the hotel was quiet and the room clean. The hotel is located near a tram stop with easy access into the city centre.

Two Nights in Strasbourg

Location: Petit France is easily accessible by tram (cheap) and so is the cathedral.
Room was clean and a reasonable size. The armchairs were very uncomfortable. Don't book at this hotel if you plan to sit in the chairs and read for a bit.

Nice hotel, it doesn't have the facilities a Hilton use to have and not the same quality in general but is also cheaper that other hiltons I've been. On the other hand the attention is outstanding all the staff is very kind and helpful, fluent in English and Spanish as well. Good for a night at Strasbourg.

Christmas visit

Pros: It was clean, staff pleasant
Cons: décor, odor in hallways
Location: Needed to take tram to attractions/town
We stayed 2 nites (Christmas Eve/Day), were a bit disappointed in hotel locale, and the fact the hallways smelled of stale smoke. A "welcome gift" would've been a nice touch for the holiday.

a quick tram ride to old town

Location: Close to tram station
Check in was a disaster - we arrived early knowing our room would not be ready. When we returned later that afternoon the room was not ready and we had to wait an extra 45 minutes - 1 hour and 45 minutes after check-in time. Staff appeared very unconcerned. Room was okay - I don't think up to Hilton standards. Close to tram station

Not the best of experiences

3 out of 5
by from Darlington
Posted Dec 17, 2015
Pros: The lifts were quick to arrive!
Cons: Baths in rooms. If guests set the kettle up its because they wish to use it - respect their wishes. Treat guests as such and not like intruders.
Location: Tram stop within reasonable walking distance but little of interest nearby.
Unfortunately for us, who usually have the good fortune to enjoy memorable stays in hotels across the world this stood out for being one of the least enjoyable. Staying in a triple room with a queen bed, which on the face of it showed great promise. We quickly became disenchanted when "housekeeping" insisted on continually leaving us only 2 tea bags for the 3 of us. Having them bring us more each night, we felt a little uncomfortable as there seemed an expectation of a tip for doing so and I was certainly not paying for something that is supposedly complimentary. Add to this housekeepings continual preoccupation with putting away the kettle each day, taking the toothbrushes out of the glass in which we had placed them & laying them on the counter, setting down the chair in the shower (oh, that reminds me - disappointing for the cost of the room not to have a bath)! It felt awkward, as though we were intruding. Things came to a head on the second from last night when on flushing the toilet the water continued to flow, preventing us from going to sleep. The night porter attempted to stem the tide to no avail leaving us with the only option to swop rooms. We discovered the replacement room (with 3 single beds!) was directly below the one we had just vacated so it was hardly a surprise that we could now hear flowing water above us. We threw in the towel & stuck it out. hence all in all a pretty poor experience. Was it just us expecting a little too much? You decide for yourself.

Pretty nice for an older hotel

Pros: The room was kept very clean. The staff was excellent and spoke both French and English fluently. The lobby was sparkling and offered free wifi.
Cons: The rooms could use an update.
Location: Takes 2 trams to get to old town but it's an easy trip. We traveled at Marche de Noel so everything was oriented around Christmas.
This hotel is not snazzy. But it is clean and decent with a great staff. If you need up-to-date decor this is not the place for you. However, we got a great rate and appreciated being a bit out of the way since the Christmas Market time is crazy in old town.
