Not very comfortable

Posted Dec 31, 2016
Pros: Close proximity of town.
Position of the hotel provides good access to the old town and the station, situated in an area where there are many hotels. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room temperature was too warm one minute and cool the next so the heavy duvet was off and on all night. The breakfast room was bleak and quiet cold with standing bar heaters which helped. The cooked breakfast ( sausage and scrambled egg both days) was cold. The rest of the breakfast was adequate.

Pros: It was clean and staff were nice
Cons: Drop the price on the tiny rooms.
Location: It is just across the road from the train station but a ten minute walk from the centre
Very handy for the train station but you have to pass a throng of beggars if you want to walk into the centre of town.the room was clean but it was tiny.and the window view was a huge industrial chimney.for the money i paid i expected a lot better.

Nice Hotel close to Train station

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The hotel is located close to the main train station and only a short walk from the city core where many museams and cathedrals are located.
Cons: Some more electrical outlets for charging cellphones, tablets etc.
Location: There were many good restaurants nearby, and the Palais Rohan is an excellent museam located across from the main cathedral with nighty light show.
There was a heatwave going on and after two hotels in Germany without air conditioning, this hotel with its AC was a bonus. The hotel is not new but renovations are occuring likely on a yearly basis. The staff was courteous and friendly. My only complaint is that there were not enough electrical outlets available to charge typical electronic devices most people now carry. We had to disconnect one of the floor lamps to get an outlet.

Good value for money

Posted Aug 14, 2015
Pros: Location, breakfast, friendly staff, cleanliness, in-room air conditioning.
Cons: Air conditioning in the main lobby, Wi-Fi system of having to ask for new log-in data each 8 hours.
Location: The main train station is right opposite the hotel, good choice of restaurants nearby, very walkable to the city centre and shopping.
Good location, right opposite the main train station, very walkable to the city centre, good choice or restaurants nearby. Clean room and bathroom. The only negative was air conditioning in the main lobby which wasn't always working (or was turned off?). Air conditioning in the room worked great. When entering the hotel for the first time the front door can be a bit confusing - the sensor takes 1-2 seconds to react and then opens outwards (not to the side) rather quickly so if you stand too close and are not careful you can get hit with the door opening towards you. Wi-fi was reliable but the system seemed unnecessarily complicated. You need to get your log-in data (username and password) from Reception - which needs to be activated within 5 hours - and then it's valid for 8 hours only after which you need to get new log-in data from Reception, etc. Reception staff was nice, friendly and multilingual. Good choice for breakfast - cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pastry, cheese, ham, basic hot food (scrambled eggs and sausages), juice, teas and coffees. Overall a very good budget hotel. One of the best in its price category I've stayed in. I would happily stay there again or recommend to other travellers.

Nice Hotel across from train station

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: location right across the railroad station and not very noisy
Cons: the bathtub is slippery
Location: Cathedral and all the beautiful old buildings Restaurant Cafe Kleber at 18 Rue de la Grange. salade nordique was excellent and resonable
We arrived very late and the clerk was very helpful. We had booked the wrong date but she had us in our room quickly. We were surprised by the good breakfast in the morning. Again the clerks were very helpful and kept out luggage until we had to catch the train. Be sure you put a towel in the bathtub when you take a shower. It is marble, very beautiful, but slippery
