Sanctuary in East VanPosted Nov 23, 2015
Pros: Interesting history, helpful staff and the live music in Pat's Pub was an unexpected surprise
Location: As above, it's an area of Vancouver you won't find in the guide books but non-threatening in my experience. Brisk walk to town and Canada Place.
OK, it's not in the greatest area of town but that shouldn't put you off. The Patricia was secure, comfortable and just a few blocks from downtown - and a totally different world. Walking can be a bit of a shock initially but there was never any hassle from the junkies and homeless that populate East Hastings. Walked through there day and night and never felt threatened

Hotel close to downtown and chinese aeraPosted Nov 18, 2015
Convenient hotel for budget travellers. But located in noisy place. On the street a lot of beggers. At hotel they provide electrical kettle Hair dryer on demand. And you have clean towels every single day. Overall expérience c+

Preisgünstiges Hotel in subobtimaler LagePosted Nov 11, 2015

Everything is ok except locationPosted Nov 8, 2015
There's many pubs near the hotel, many drunk man asking for money or just bother you, feel unsafe. Other than that, everything is ok, fast internet, cleaned room

乾淨 價格合理Posted Oct 30, 2015

This is an excellent "Budget" Hotel...Posted Oct 9, 2015
A quality renovated historic building. You get more than you pay for, but must remember it is a "Budget" hotel. Have to accept the aged elevator, the neighborhood and it's homeless people (just cross the street..). On the edge of Chinatown and the downtown core. Bus stop just across the street. Nice breakfast and pub downstairs. I would go back again..

You get what you pay for!Posted Sep 25, 2015
Rooms were small. Bathroom was cramped. Bathroom door was narrow and I had to squeeze through sideways. Small shower and toilet in it with no grab bars. Hallways smelled dirty. The hotel was historic (old) and on the edge of skid row. Yes, Chinatown and Gastown are nearby but panhandlers and prostitutes solicited right up to the front doors. The linens and rooms were clean. We got decent rests but the beds were lesser quality than we usually encounter. The front desk was manned by 2 - 3 persons all the time. 1/2 of the hotel was apparently rooming for long term residents, some of who appeared to be alcoholics or having other addictive problems. We felt safe inside but were cautions coming and going in our 3 day stay. We will not stay there again.
