I don't see how this hotel got such good reviews. I'm not that picky when it comes to a play to sleep but this place left me underwhelmed. It was just okay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, but I didn't find it particularly clean (the windows looked like the had smudges all over and the tv hadn't been dusted in a long time by the looks of it!). Bathroom looked like it needed a deep clean or redone. The wifi connection sucked, and it would have been nice to have a mini fridge. I also found the lighting in the room limited. I felt like I was always in the dark. Loved our view and location to everything in Strömstad. I also liked the breakfast a lot, typical Swedish breakfast with lots of good food to choose from, which really helped to redeem my thoughts of the hotel.

The picture of this hotel on the Hotels.com website is totally disceptive! It shows it at night & from a distance. The reality is that the exterior of the hotel is worse than generic, hard to find, has no signs outside & has HORRIBLE parking....not nearly enough for the number of guest rooms. So, we had to park quite a ways away in one of the village's paid lots. This should have been disclosed about the hotel. Once we could finally find the hotel up on a hilltop, but without signs, we enjoyed the neat views from the lobby area & our room overlooking the harbor marina. Walking out the backside of the hotel & down into the village was the best way since the tiny parking area for the check-in desk was a log jam. Many guests were very irritated with the whole hard process. The lobby & restaurant areas have been nicely updated, but the halls & our room r needing updates too. Other than the location's views, this property didn't meet what our expectations were for a Scandic Hotel. There was a lovely breakfast buffet, however.

We enjoyed a quick overnight. Great area, convenient location. Breakfast included was very good. Views are incredible. Friendly staff!

This hotel is in a perfect location with stunning views. The room was very nice and clean. The restaurant was OUTSTANDING! The service was excellent as well. Overall I loved this hotel and would stay here again in a second.

Kind of your basic travel lodge/conference center type of hotel. Small room with small bathroom with very small shower. Very simply appointed room. No proactive assistance from parking attendant and had to park in lot 10 minute walk away. No bell hop service so you have to shlepp your own bags. Check in very rote and no particularly friendly. But hey they offer a great breakfast. And very easy walking distance to anywhere in town you need to get. Place to go since there are few other options in town.

Beautiful view, great breakfast buffet, nice rooms, could use a few more hangers & beds are a but tired, but overall very pleased. Had to ask about wifi & the breakfast but otherwise staff was mostly helpful.

The hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment and extension and the location is a building site with a hotel in the middle. There was no gym or sauna, no restaurant, no bar, no cooked breakfast and no safe parking. There was a bedroom but I didn't travel from the UK just for a bed. Staff were sorry for the inconvenience and very pleasant. Being sorry is free. No refund contribution was available. C McAteer
