It's a nice quiet place to stay,

It's a nice quiet place to stay, just needs some upgrades a bit out dated, and if your an early bird the restaurant for breakfast does not open til 7:30am and I'm sure in some cases it would be nice to open at 6:00am..

Could be better

Posted Jul 1, 2017
Pros: View from sliding door is nice Nice sitting area by the water Pillows, towels Wifi is good Not bad for price
Cons: Clean mold in bathroom and fix broken tile Get rid of ugly lamp
Location: Perfect location on water
Strange set up with food at tiki bar. Drinks are ordered separate from food. Monday restaurant not open but we were not told. View from sliding door is lovely. Beds comfortable and bedding fresh and clean Nice towels Could be a fabulous retro 70's motel Great location Mold in bathroom needs to be addressed Get rid of ugly lamp

BROKEN GLASS SHADE LEFT IN OUR MADE-UP BED !

Posted May 11, 2017
How housekeeping could knowingly leave a broken glass shade in a bed and then make the bed up is beyond me. The room was otherwise clean and fairly spacious. The Tiki hut bar is a great spot for a cocktail, and it is always a good time. If you were a cigar smoker, while the tiki is in open air spot that allow cigarette smoking, the owner as a whim decided to not allow cigar smoking anymore. If you're looking for a Beach on site where you can dip your toes in the water, this isn't the place. We've stayed on this key many times before, but will never stay at Sugarloaf Lodge again

Florida Keys Vacation

Posted Apr 14, 2017
Had a great trip to Key West and local surrounding areas. Mangrove mamas for breakfast, Flyfishing with Captain Eric Ryan, and of course up and down Duval Street on my rented beach cruiser. Good price, room was clean, air conditioned, great Tiki bar, good pizza place, fried shrimp salad, food next door, great bed and pillows. 15 or so minute drive to Key West. As Arnold said, "l'll be back".
