Awesome hotel, Wifi has to be better

Posted Oct 19, 2017
Pros: everything
Cons: Wifi
Over-all, thumbs up and highly recommended. Improvements should be Wifi since many are coming down for business, internet should be more performant and stable.

Good location that needs major renovations

Posted Oct 19, 2017
The hotel smelled really bad from decades of people smoking in it. The room was ok as the beds were newer but the rest needed to be redone and replaced. The only saving grace was the hotel staff was excellent and courteous. The Hat Bar was a good spot to watch the ball game with friends.

Disappointed there was no fridge or microwave in the room and limited electrical outlets. Historical value was quaint, its proximity to Ellis Island and in a safe neighborhood made this a good.choice for us.

Very pleasant, non-commercial feel to this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Stayed here several times and was happy with choice.

The hotel is in very good shape for an old property. Bathrooms have been renovated since the last time we were there, and the rooms and hallways were clean and inviting. We appreciated the free breakfast and the attendant who was in charge.

The hotel is definitely vintage, but well cared for. Parking was extra as was a refrigerator request, but I'm assuming I didn't read the website clearly enough to know ahead of time. Breakfast was decent with a number of hot items in addition to the usual cereal, fruit and pastries. Its close enough to the downtown area to walk, as is the train station. Great choice if Summit is your destination.

Very good

Like the neighborhood took morning walks to see the town and loved the small town feel, good restaurants, although hit the bar in the evening. Service was great. The breakfast was great, choice of bacon, sausage, crepes, french toast. Much more than I expected. Bathroom could have been larger but worked fine as is (stayed in older section of the hotel and ambiance is more important)
