Nice Hotel no hot water or heatingPosted Oct 12, 2015
Pros: Nothing comes to mind!
Cons: More staff when the Hotel is busy.
Hot water and no room heating, the public areas were very noisy until the early hours, we did not get a good sleep, parking was not easy at all. Generally speaking not a good stay.

Great, but just don't eat there.Posted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: The Ground and hotel were lovely as were most of the staff.
Cons: The menu
Offered a exciting menu on there web site so we booked the restaurant, on arrival to the uninviting room we were seated in the middle and given a piece of a4 paper with basic offerings, we asked to see the a la carte menu but told they are only offering a set menu, we left the restaurant and ended up having to order from the bar menu as it was getting late, don't order the pizza, the base topping must have been tomato puree , the curry never came with nan bread or chutney even though it was on the menu, the beer battered home made onion rings were cheap frozen shaped and formed, I complained many times and the bar meal was refunded to me, later that evening I had a fall in the bath while getting out as the handle on the bath moved as I stood up, I have a large bruise still now, I never complained as I was fed up with moaning all evening, be careful when having a bath in room 410

Nice HotelPosted Sep 21, 2015
Nice hotel, nice interior, well equipped, but not sure why the hotel charged £139 to my card at the hotel when I have already paid them on Expedia , the amount was refunded the next day before I left

Lovely Hotel and Great Wedding venuePosted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Lovely well maintained building with good sized clean rooms
Cons: As above, provide tea and coffee facilities in all the rooms
Location: Location was nice and tucked away from the town but still accessible with a nice little country walk
This was a great hotel for the wedding which we attended. Great room for the ceremony and lovely big room and bar for the reception which had lovely detail to make the day special. Stayed in a standard twin room that was very clean and a very good size. Bathroom was good with all the toiletries and good powerful shower. Only slight negative was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities but maybe you only get that in the superior rooms, but i think that they are usually pretty standard for most hotels nowadays. quick and easy check-in/out and helpful staff when asking for directions. Didn't opt for the breakfast buffet as thought the £15 fee was a bit steep for me but i'm sure it was fine.

Suited our needs. Very friendly staff. Although there were wedding celebrations going on we weren't disturbed at all.

Pros: Style and locations, grounds.
Cons: The standard rooms look a little dated.
Location: We never left the hotel
Lovely country hotel but in a very accessible location, fabulous old building, modern rooms that are pretty good, great value for money. Marvellous gardens and surroundings. Good facilities.

Fantastic hotel but reception overwhelmedPosted Aug 26, 2015 on Hotels
Firstly, let me just say that the hotel and grounds are beautifully kept. The rooms are comfortable and the wifi actually works (a pleasant surprise given the age of the building)! Secondly, the staff never seem to stop and do all they can to help BUT reception are overwhelmed. At most there are 2 members of staff on reception but when we arrived at 3pm, there was just 1 person available. What this meant was that we waited more than half hour to check in, reception are unable to answer calls from rooms and you have to queue for at least 10mins to even ask a question. My suggestion to improve the hotel is simply add more receptionist bandwidth.
