Quiet and peaceful but not much going on. Wouldn’t stay again.

Two night stay for 3 people.

Posted Nov 21, 2017
limited menu but food good, the hotel building itself is very old but has been updated so possibly not to everyone’s taste, small corridors and room access stairs steep, 3 people stayed for two nights and both of the others had no issues but the room I was in suffered from very noisy “pipe work” so when anyone used the shower or toilet in their room it was very noisy In my room, also suffered a bit of noise with fire doors closing.

Not for the faint hearted.

Late night disco kept us awake as it was so loud in the room (and this was supposed to be the quiet end of the hotel) The bed was so uncomfortable we got no sleep at all and both ended up with painful backs the following day. We were so uncomfortable we left after the first night even though we had paid for two nights. the hotel in general was run down and felt dirty and was nothing like the photos shown on the booking site, fire doors with the bottom rotted away, bathroom doors were you had to squeeze between it and the sink to get into the room, showers that didn't work, curtains that don't cover the window, the room overlooked the courtyard and might as well not had glass in the windows as you heard every sound especially the late night revelers at the disco, the list goes on, the sat nav also took us to the side of the M42, so we ended up driving an extra 30 miles to get to the hotel.

Slightly disappointed that the kitchen wouldn't stay open another 10mins til I got there to eat. Closed at 9.30pm but called ahead to ask if I could order while on the phone and arrive to eat. Looks good in pictures but small room, mattress very thin, toilet very small, couldn't even open door fully, shower didn't work in bath worked but bath handles were rusty. Breakfast was really nice though!!!
