Disappointing, to say the least....

My wife and I stayed at this HIE for 3 nights starting Friday, December 30, while visiting family. Upon check in the staff was very cordial, the room tidy and clean, and the room and neighborhood quiet. The next morning we went down for breakfast around 9:30 to find all the hot food items empty (breakfast closes at 10), the toaster inoperative as well as the juice machine. After about 10 minutes the elusive attendant arrived and said a breaker had tripped. "It happens all the time!: The next morning the hot food again was all eaten but the toaster worked and we were able to heat the stale bagels. On Sunday, January 1, we returned to our room around 8pm to find it had not been touched by housekeeping. So, off to the desk to ask why. Well, the first comment was to announce that housekeeping was off on January 1 and only one person was working for the hotel. The desk clerk checked the log and announced that our room had a "do not disturb" sign on it. That's true, it was on the door from 9:00 to 10:00 while we were dressing and at breakfast, just like the morning before. My wife mentioned that there was a lady at the door earlier who wanted to know if we needed anything. Perhaps she was the one housekeeper. Who knows?
Oh and BTW, we were charged $89 per night for the night with housekeeping and $99 for the rest including the one without housekeeping. The desk clerk mentioned that we paid an extra $10 per night since we booked outside HIE.. Oh thanks!
