Avoid by all means, especially in the winter!!

I booked this guest house for one reason only: compared to others, it offered reasonable cancellation conditions. You do not have to cancel days or weeks in advance to avoid a penalty; and if you have to do so after the deadline, you lose only one night accomodation, not the whole booking. But I returned disappointed. Indongo does not answer to e-mails (it took me ages to find one, since none is provided by Expedia), and I was forced to call from another Protea in Windhoek. The evening before my departure, I was told that no payment had been received and I would have actually been very lucky to get a room because nobody had expected me. I produced my Expedia booking, and next morning I heard that everything was OK. Nobody could have been consulted over night, so maybe the booking had just not been filed? To top it all, Indongo does not haveany heating, and temperatures in July are 5-10 degrees Celsius. When I complained, I was given a small, but noisy, electric heater; I was the only guest to receive one. The two ladies there are very friendly and want to help, but management is incompetent. This is a pity because Indongo is in a good shape, rooms and beddings are spotlessly clean and elegant, and breakfast is OK. Yes, the bathrooms are dated and up for renovation, but this is not such an issue. Some more care is needed (safes did not work, desks were great but there was no lighting, and some bathroom equipment was lose) and much more professionalism (it is part of Protea!).
