"Good location"
Well situated with good facilities (pool, gym). 10 mins walk to Redfern Station, 20-30 mins walk to Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Chinatown etc. We also walked to the SCG from here (45 mins) so, as I say its well located. But in dire need of a decent revamp. Shower over bath - base of bath is orange with presumably rust stain. Kitchen is very basic and cooktop and oven both need replacing. Washing machine also is old, well used and is barely going so it definitely needs replacing. Beds are comfortable, living area good sized. Staff were great - friendly, welcoming and helpful.

"Comfortable hotel convenient to restaurants."
We stayed here for easy access to airport. We used the public transportation system to also tour parts of the city. The room was spacious and comfortable. Good restaurants within walking distance.

"Good for public transport, high environmental load"
Our room was spacious, with a balcony that we didn't use because it was dirty and because neighbouring traffic and air conditioners make it so noisy. Cleaners neatened everything up daily. Room sleeps 4 but there are cups and glasses only for 2. Good desk space to work in-room but no quiet business centre outside the room. Bathroom just big enough but nowhere to hang laundry or wet towels from, so think ahead if you want to use the pool or care about sustainability. The pool is a good depth for splashing and lounging but not long enough to swim in. Even in hot February temperatures it was heated. And cloudy white. Pool showers grubby. Rooms have good air conditioning until it occasionally switches to heating. Reception knew about it but had no solution. We woke up really hot a few nights because the air conditioning had switched into heating mode. Overall the room was fairly quiet but the walls and door are not thick enough to block loud people in the hallways, nor those who make an endurance sport of clearing their sinuses in their rooms. Lots of mucus-athletes with shouting children stay at this hotel. Some sniff, snort and hoick non-stop into full-blast running water for as long as half an hour. A lot of people leave room service trays in a mess on the corridor floors, where they don't get picked up until the afternoon. Well connected to Central Station south concourse, Railway Square bus hub, and Darling Harbour via the Goods Line pedestrian walk.

"Great accommodation 4 backpackers / short holidays"
At first, I was sceptical. I had tried one place just up the street around World Sq, and I can hear speakers blaring out late into the night-that was a one private room too, not the dorm style. Still, as I look around in this website, I found this place through sorting out guest exp vs. price. Mind you, I don't want to stay in upscale hotels as I don't have farms full of gold egg-laying ducks but I'm not interested in staying in a room worse than their cages. To top it all off, I had to be in Sydney for a competition, so being fresh for the day everyday is kind of a must. So, let's start. When I come at night, I was a bit surprised about seeing the place (with a pool and all). Even though it looks more like a kiddy pool, but hey, I don't see much places having that at all ! The overall ambience is what you can expect from a backpacker place-but minus the blaring speakers as it's away from any nearby clubs-which are good if you want to get a good sleep. The kitchen looks clean and maintained more than most places I've been to. The wifi-and later, the lock-was not expected, but the reasonable price was worth it. What made me realize why this place had good ratings and reviews-was the bed itself and the room. I was afraid of bed bugs-which can be prevalent in most places-but I was glad this place was well maintained. The check-out was easy, and I don't need to deposit any money in advance. Less to say, this place was definitely well worth the price.
