Affordable Darling Harbour Pub Hotel

Posted Jan 7, 2018
Pros: Proximity to Darling Harbour. Great food in the pub. Convenience store across the road.
Cons: Better information/signage re check-in.
Location: Powerhouse Museum. Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre. Darling Harbour. ICC Sydney (convention centre & entertainment precinct).
Check-in was a bit confusing - you check in at the bar, but there's no clear signage. Helpful staff member arriving for her shift saw us standing outside looking confused and guided us. Stairs leading to the rooms (no lift that I could see) are steep and narrow - fine for me but not good for people with mobility issues. Room was clean and comfortable. Wi-fi worked. No noise from the bar downstairs.

Not a good one

Posted Jan 5, 2018
Location: close to all Sydney attractions , Museum and basic amenities
we stayed there for 3 days. When we got the keys for the first room , room was already open and was bit surprise to see that door lock was already broken . went to into the bathroom to wash my hands and saw a dirty water coming out of the tap . immediately went to see the attendant and complained about the room . luckily got keys for another room. this time door lock was working , but floor was not clean at all. very dusty, felt like as if it was not vacuumed for a long time. bathroom exhaust fan was not working . Overall was I didn't had a good experience

Don't go there

Posted Dec 5, 2017
Welcomed by pleasant, friendly lady who directed us to our room. Door was open. Met by vile smell of drains coming up from either toilet or shower drain. Room was squalid and scruffy. Insect spray left in room for very good reason. Sat for half hour wondering what to do. Couldn't face one night in that room, let alone four, so handed keys back in in at pub below and left. Was going to say, only go there if you are on the lowest of budgets, but the place was 80 dollars a night!!! Avoid.

Nothing special looking about this place. But the room was clean. Bed was comfy, clean towels every day. Fridge stocked for your personal continental breakfast. Staff were nice. Good location for a 15 min walk to Darling harbor. 5 mins to Paddy's market

Great location

Close to light rail exhibition center, thus easy to get anywhere in the city. Rooms and hotel little tired, but new owners are working to paint and update.

Pros: Location was fantastic
Cons: Black out curtains to cut down the street light sneaking into the room.
Location: Short walk to Darling Harbour and directly across the road from a large swimming pool
A great self serve breakfast, unlimited coffee & tea and a short walk to Darling Harbour. Downstairs bar serves great meals.

Walking distance to all city activities.

Arrived early and allowed to store bags in public area in the bar downstairs. Easy bookin with welcoming staff. Returned later in the afternoon to access rooms. Older facilities, but acceptable. Had dinner downstairs in the bar. Plenty of wines to choose from as well as an extensive menu. Breakfast was provided from a central point, to be taken back to your room. We would stay again, because of the lo cation and price.
