*Requiring physical CC @ checkin feels positively archaic. *Cockroaches every time you open a door or drawer *Cold shower 6am Friday Morning *Onsite parking @ $50 per night is a gouge - available for $13 round the corner on sussex st *King beds (two singles come apart too easily) *TV remote not working - retro 32" LCD also unable to find ANY signal * Tired and dated overall - Fraser suites across the road for not much extra a way better bet.

The room was huge but a bit old and not well cleaned. We checked in on a Saturday and only had one small body wash supplied for 2 people for 3 days there is no housekeeping on Sunday and we put our towels on the floor on Monday but they were not replaced so we had to go to reception to get fresh towels. Tha staff were friendly and helpful

Rats & decaying rats in the basement, an overall smell in the building of uncleanliness, old stained carpets, stained mattress, no mattress covers, street workers in and out of the property, drug abuse in front of the building… I booked for three nights and left after one night only because I couldn’t find another hotel at that time. 3 guests did the same. No reimbursement provided. I wish health and safety concerns would be taken more seriously by this hotel and by Expedia.

Unit so close to China Town in the heart of everything yet quiet as Service was amazing friendly and welcoming Bed was a little hard for us but that was our only complaint highly recommended APX will stay again

I booked 3 nights here in December 2023 and booked through wotif ! When I booked this hotel as I have very small chihuahua 4 kgs , went on wotif pressed on filter pet friendly accommodation in Sydney this app darling harbour hotel come up in this category so to make sure I scrolled down to hotel policies that clearly stated pets are allowed at an extra rate so thought ok and booked my accommodation. When I arrived man at counter saying no dogs allowed here at all then cleaner in there hotel using a blower in reception area blew all this dirt straight in my face while I’m sitting in reception chair I said excuse me can you not do this to which he said move I can’t believe this place . Then I spoke to a manager over phone who was so arrogant and rude did not care !!! Very unhelpful staff argumentative and cleaner clearly has no protocols at all thinking he was in the right and never once apologised which I find absolutely disgusting. Do not give this place your hard earned money trust me they are worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and I have stayed in a lot of places at very least the customer service needs to be more understanding not argue with customer ever , cleaner should just be sacked and manager is a joke very arrogant and argumentative aswel . So so poor

I have stayed at APX Darling Harbour a number of times over the last few years. The location is great and the rooms are quite large. However, the rooms and bathrooms are beginning to look tired and in need of a major refurbishment. Also reception is often unattended, which can be annoying.

The lift was not working. Had to use emergency exit stairs to get to the 4th floor and down. No help provided to carry our luggage. Bed was uncomfortable and so as the pillows.

Convenient place to stay
We stayed at this hotel for a week. The location was convenient for us. It was an easy walking distance to the light rail network and there were dozens of places near by where we could eat. Our room was well equipped with everything we could need in a week and the staff very obliging and helpful. The only complaints we have are that the bed is a bit dippy in the middle and there was an issue with the lifts which were not always working. The only stairs available were the fire escapes and our floor was not always accessible when the lifts were out.

Great location. Room wasn’t ready on time which isn’t too much of a problem however there was a cockroach infestation throughout bathroom and kitchen. I advised the front desk and he didn’t seem that concerned. Wasn’t offered any compensation or other feedback mechanism- didn’t really seem to care.

I’ve read the bad reviews and if I was paying full price for a room I would also be somewhat surprised at the cost. Rooms I have stayed in need some renovation in places. However if you can get a deal around $150 you’ll enjoy the place much more than a Sydney pub room. The $200 bond is however painful!

The first room I was given stank of cigarette smoke, despite the property claiming all rooms were non-smoking. The upgraded room did not smell of cigarette smoke, but the Smart TV did not work, no channels were available, the streaming services were either inoperable or erratic. The toilet bowl was not fixed to the floor. The best part was waking up to see one cockroach scurrying up the wall near my bed and two more in the sink in the kitchen area. When I checked out and informed the reception of these issues, I was told that the reservations team would respond to my concerns that day. They never did. Still no response from them today after another email earlier this morning.

The apartment was clean and in a convenient location. However, the hot water system wasn't great and sometimes you may have to have a cold shower. Not ideal when the weather is cold.

Allocated me beside the laundry room twice. They did 24 hours laundry without closing the door. I requested the receptionist to give a room far from the laundry, however, he gave me closed to it twice. I haven't received the deposit reufnd back for 5 business days. I don't know how long would it take to refund the deposit.

This property was reasonably priced and in a good location but it was not properly cleaned (crumbs under the couch cushions and urine splatter on the toilet). Also, upon check in they took a 200 deposit (standard for any hotel) but the next day informed me that it would take 5 business days for my money to be released (not standard practice). There is no reason for the hotel not to have the technology to release the deposit immediately. This put me out of pocket unexpectedly. Absolutely unacceptable.

On the coldest night of the week, this hotel had the worst air conditioning system - So bad that AFTER FREEZING ALL NIGHT, doing everything TO GET WARM with no success, I left at 5am and went and booked another hotel to get comfortable. I’ve been sick all week due to getting a cold from the hotel. I even tried to make a coffee and there was no milk or sugar! The curtains didn’t block any cold at all and the bed sheets and towels were dirty, not clean and no extras available! Even when checking out, despite the reception desk stating that they are there 24hours, NO ONE WAS AVAILABLE AT ALL AFTER I CHECKED IN

The room was a good size but very much in need of a renovation/cleaning. the hotel is in an ideal location, close to China Town, the city, Darling Harbour and public transport. Dixon Street, where the hotel is located is very dirty after hours and early morning.

Nice spacious room with big balcony. Biggest issue was the shower. It took so long for the water to get hot. The shower head leaked and the water pressure was very low meaning that taking a shower was not. Good experience. The guy on check in was really nice and helpful.

Reasonable place
Good and quick check in/out. Water temperature took a long while before it got warm especially if other guests are using it then it didn’t really get warm. Besides that it’s reasonable place to stay.
