Comfort, vintage, yet authentic hotel in Sydney

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Definitely not the holiday inn but it had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay and was located within walking distance of everything to do near the harbour. I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend if your looking to crash for a few nights and really do some exploring.

Pros: Convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Clean and spacious rooms.
Cons: Probably the noise level on Thursday and Saturday nights.
Location: The cruise Terminal was walking distance and the railway station and ferries.
I was catching the Arcadia to Brisbane so had a few days at the Hotel. It was walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go.

Clean, Comfortable, Expensive

Very basic for $150. Shared bathrooms, no ac, no tv, smallish room. However clean, comfortable, friendly and good location.

Great location; wonderful and safe

Posted Nov 24, 2016 on Hotels
The Australian Heritage hotel was so much fun. And especially nice to find something that wasn't overpriced! Yes, parts might be a bit "tired" but nothing more than I expected. Lots of stairs up and down to Circular Quay but again nothing that wasn't expected. Chris was fantastic and carried my bag up to our room (more stairs) and was always available to answer questions. Breakfast was cereals, fruit, bread & jams and yogurt; tea, coffee, milk and juices were always available. Absolutely fantastic location for visiting the harbour or crossing the harbour bridge. Close to buses and train at Circular Quay. Plenty of bathrooms (toilets/showers); never had to wait for one. Bed was very comfortable and towels and linens were clean and good quality.

Great location with friendly staff

Posted Nov 22, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Very convenient location, within walking distance to Sydney Harbour, various other sights and restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Pub downstairs is popular so bring earplugs if you want an early night!
First time to Sydney and was looking for something conveniently located and affordable that wasn't a dorm. Found this old heritage hotel in the Rocks and it fit the bill. Super friendly staff, great location and pub with good food downstairs. Rooms are basic but comfy with bathrooms down the hall. Breakfast with toast, cereal, yoghurt and fruit provided in the morning in the parlour, great way to socialize with other guests!

Fantastic location in the heart of the Rocks!

Posted Nov 7, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Location and the pub itself.
Cons: Breakfast could do with a bit of freshening up. A lot of work needs to be done to bring this old beauty back to life!
Location: Great pubs such as the hotel itself and The Mercantile Irish Pub. Awesome locations for exploring the Rocks and Circular Quay and the Harbour Bridge.
Well the bed was comfortable and the shared ensuite bathroom and bedroom were generally quite clean but very basic. I realise this hotel is extremely old and therefore probably heritage listed but it needs a lot of work doing to it to justify the price. The staff were really lovely and the pub food and beer is great! Breakfast is provided but very basic. Would stay here again but wouldn't pay the same rates!

Right in the heart of Sydney.

Pros: Price excellent.
Cons: Carpets need replacing.
Location: Great pub downstairs with good food. Lots of others in the neighbourhood. Can walk from the cruise terminal.
Rooms comfortable and clean. Slept really well. Bathrooms were down the hall, but were clean and access was easy. Great common room where you can meet people and have free breakfast. Stairs are steep, but the staff will gladly carry your bags up and down.
