Nice hotel close to the Marine wharf

Posted Jan 18, 2016
Our room was upgraded with the ocean view. Very friendly staff . I lost my key, the staff replaced it for me at no cost. I thought my deal includes free wifi, however I was told that I have to pay for it.

Adjust your expectations and have a great stay

Posted Jan 15, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Avoid rooms above adjoining restaurant
The DeVere is unusual - on many different levels and it's seen better days - but, for the price, it's great. The staff are always welcoming and helpful, rooms are spotless and comfortable. The Potts Point location is great - 311 bus to the city is right across the street as is a large supermarket. Huge choice of places to eat in this neighborhood. I have stayed here many times and keep coming back - value for money.

My room had mosquitos and bed bugs.

Posted Dec 21, 2015
Pros: Nothing, avoid at all cost.
Cons: Everything.
Location: A good location is the only thing this dated hotel has going for it.
My room had mosquitos and bed bugs, I was bitten all over. I booked for multiple nights but checked out early. The hotel staff refused to refund me the remainder of my stay, even after trapping one of the bugs and showing the staff. Only after contacting Expedia was I able to secure a refund. This is definitely one of the most run down hotels I've ever stayed in. One look at the condition of the carpet in the lobby should have been warning enough...

The hotel has a morning buffet which was great.

Posted Nov 11, 2015
Location: Walked around and the train station was located very close by.
The elevator was out of service that will take me to the room, had to take a different elevator and climb some stairs to reach elevator and go down another flight of stairs to reach room. The staff helped us out and called a shuttle to take us to the pier instead of calling a cab which saved us some money.

Value for money. Close to Trains and buses

Posted Nov 9, 2015 on Lastminute
Pros: Service and convenience
Cons: The lifts.
Location: Handy to Kings Cross, trains and buses and an easy downhill walk to Circular Quay
Very easy check in. One of the two lifts was giving a temporary problem which staff were quick to try and resolve. Enjoyed our previous experience here two years ago and equally as enjoyable on this occasion. buffet breakfast is value for money.

Exceptional view over Elizabeth Bay

Posted Nov 8, 2015
Pros: refer above
Cons: refer above
Location: Close to very good restaurants and happenings in the Cross. Close to City and Harbour Events,Galleries and whatever is ýour thing.
Stayed for one week in a double room with a kitchenette and single bed in second room...exceptional views of Elizabeth Bay...location on MacLeay street perfect..easy walking distance to city, Art Gallery, Opera House etc. and easy access to public transport if required. Though the furnishings are looking 'faded and jaded' and somewhat threadbare, the shower was perfect..however bath quite slippery on stepping in to shower (could be an OH&S issue)......bed very comfortable and kitchenette well equipped... All in all a most enjoyable week and will definitely stay at the deVere again

Reasonable price for a city hotel

Posted Nov 5, 2015
Nice and comfy hotel in the middle of a popular suburb. Clean rooms and services. Although parking car was a bit of Pain in the back! If possible, hotel should organize a fixed parking for the guests. Even though they offer a discounted parking in near Wilson car park which around 5 mins walk from the hotel( Not good enough) and it's for $41 per day. With that price added you can get much decent hotel with parking. Overall good experience!
