short stay

Posted Apr 20, 2017
Pros: location close to Circular Quay
Cons: roon darkening curtains
Location: central for Pitt Street, Circular Quay and all main Sydney amenities
only needed for a late night/early morning between various sightseeing adventures, so was adequate for a single traveler

Basic old hotel near Wynyard station.

Posted Mar 27, 2017
Great location. Great value. Well stocked breakfast room with cereals juice and toast. Comfortable but no air conditioning. Old style basic hotel so don't expect room service. Usual CBD noise but night time construction noises while the light rail is being built.

Old Hotel - needs repairs

Posted Mar 19, 2017
Clean, but very basic room. Drunk party-goers below in the street. Couldn't take a shower in either of the shared bathrooms, because the taps had been done up with a wrench to try to prevent leaks. Managed a bath - nearly burnt myself with the temperature and pressure. Expect an old hotel in need of repairs. Friendly staff, good location.

Lovely place for a night's sleep.

Posted Mar 13, 2017
Pros: Close to everything.
Cons: Noise at night, but it will be better when roadworks have finished.
Location: In the heart of Sydney we walked everywhere. Trains where across the road and a great food court there too.
Close to everything, a bit noisy but not enough to keep you awake. Very clean and great breakfast set up. Value for money.

Lovely old hotel in great spot.

Posted Mar 7, 2017
Pros: See above
Cons: Lift, noise levels if possible.
Location: Great spot for easy access to CBD and harbour.
Surprised by cleanliness and quality of furnishings. Super location close to CBD and harbour. Lift a little awkward with old double doors but forgivable. Only negative the noise from garbage collections at about 4am. Had Windows open so may have been quieter if closed. All in all very good stay.

Get what you pay for

Good location. No a/c, so the garbage trucks are very loud through the window at night. Also shared bathroomsome with hair, soap wrappers, and shampoo bottles in the shower basin.

Authentic experience

Posted Jan 21, 2017
In the heart of Sydney CBD. As advertised, shared bathroom, decent single bedroom. Might be a problem in hot summer with no aircond but otherwise it's a great little pub and restaurant, quiet. Better than a backpackers if you want privacy. Bar staff were only friendly.

Not for elderly or handicapped

Posted Jan 20, 2017 on Orbitz
Great location in the heart of Sydney's CBD. Friendly staff. But no en suite bathroom. Separate shower and toilet facilities in the hall. The shower has a steep step into it. Challenging for someone with a disability. Breakfast room is open 24 hours but only consist of instant coffee, milk and juice, dry cereal, toast and fresh fruit. And you wash your own dishes. The elevator doors have to be opened manually and are a bit heavy. If the elevator doesn't line up correctly, it's a trip hazard. No lobby. Check in at the pub. If you can get past all that, it's a great location. Short walk to the train station.
