Posted Aug 4, 2015
The staff told me there is no parking in the motel. She provided the public free parking information for us but its not easy to get one at night.

Average hotel close to most facilities

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights the bed was average but underneath the bed smelt disgusting and made the whole room stink. The room was way to tiny for 2 people for 4 nights. The shower would have to be the best thing about the room.

Basic lodge accommodation

Posted Jul 18, 2015
I was on a budget so chose to stay here as it was affordable. I didn't see a staff member during my stay. I had a small double room and it was small...I had to move a chair to get to the bathroom. The shower was great though and I found the bed to be comfortable. A basic lodge but from what others told me about accommodation in the area it was better than some others.

very close to pub and shops

Posted Jul 15, 2015
Pros: the staff
Cons: some renovations and some TLC
Location: shops and public transport
on arrival had to park illegally to get luggage out as no parking on street and no parking at rear with only 3 SPOTS! staff? Was given code for internet but code had expired a week previous. Was advertised for foxtel could not find, Glass shower door was not there just a temporary curtain, water pooled up on tiles in front of toilet.Road traffic was very very noisy!

Disgusting "Hotel" should be a backpackers instead

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: The only good thing was that it is literally 50 metres to the hospital, the reason why I stayed there.
Cons: Cleanliness, staff attentiveness, some renovations.
From arriving the hotel only has 3 car spaces and does not state this on the site, the first room they gave me was on a walkway and was tiled with a gap under the door and being the middle of winter the room is very cold and smelly. I spoke to the reception and they changed the room straight away to a carpeted room. This room was dusty, smelly there were long hairs over everything, mould on the walls and in the bathroom. Asked staff to change or clean the room and they said it was a further $50 because it was a day after check in. As I was in a hurry to get to the hospital for my partner the day of check in, I did not get a good chance to inspect the room. As it was late they had no staff when I got to the room to contact and show so it had to wait til the next day. Everything being dusty and mouldy played havoc with my Asthma and I had the worst sleeps whilst I stayed there. Also it is very noisy as the rooms are not soundproofed and you hear every footstep and door closing.

First and biggest issue: the site states "free parking"- there are 3 car spaces for 20+ rooms. I booked this accomodation purely for the parking, as I was travelling with 2 small children, and arriving in the dark. Asked to cancel and be refunded, but was refused. A $4 bottle of Exit Mould would do wonders for the bathroom, which is not practical for a woman to do hair and makeup in. Basically this establishment is only suitable for a guy in his early 20s after a big day at the races!

value for money

Posted Jul 3, 2015 on Wotif
Cons: they said there was parking .but all parking out the back was full,so we had to park 400m away on street.
Location: footy at s.c.g,randwick races, and coo gee beach all close.
everything was fine ,except for one thing.when we opened up the foldaway bed for my daughter to sleep on,we found it had not been made up.it looked like someone had slept in it ,somewhen, and hadn't been opened since.it was too late to get anyone to get clean sheets,so my poor daughter had no choice but to sleep in it.she swore it smelled.very unpleasant experience.told woman at reception and she just said sorry about that !not good enough I'm afraid.we won't be back .

High Cross Park Lodge - Single room

Posted Jun 18, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: Cheap and clean
Cons: King single beds
Location: Good pub next door
Have stayed here several times before (in double room) with good results. This time went for the single room option but it was awful: bed too short (not king single); noisy (air conditioners right outside window); noisy through traffic footsteps all night (room next to main walkway ramp). Would recommend staying there as long as you go for double room option

I would stay again

Posted Jun 15, 2015 on Wotif
For its location, price and facilities, I thought that it was good value. The bathroom was modern and clean, the room was compact although access to the wardrobe was difficult, but I didn't need it for my stay.
