Unfortunately we checked in on Sunday of the long weekend. We arrived at 1.45pm and were advised that our room was not ready. We finally checked into our room 3.15pm. I know it was busy but, the reception area had three workers and there were at least 10 people on each line,. We were not the only patrons having to wait. I don’t know whether housekeeping were able to turn the rooms over as quickly as they should. Then in the morning waiting to be seated for breakfast at the restaurant was another issue, people already seating were swapping tables and nothing was being said to them, the eggs, bacon and mushrooms were empty and also there were no plates available, it was clear that the staff did not operate well under pressure. I do understand it was a long weekend and they were very busy, but, not good enough for a well known hotel in the middle of Sydney CBD. Do not know that we would return,

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and provided a seamless check-in process. The room was acceptable but probably in need of a refresh. General cleanliness was ok, but finding the previous guests pubic hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower was a turnoff and made me question how through a clean the room actually had.

Single layer toilet paper is a no-go for a 4 star hotel. Location was fantastic and noise level was a minimal. Parking is only a block away but in a very run-down building so don’t be surprised if you need to use the stairs due to maintenance issues on escalators and lifts. Check fine details!!! I selected a room with free parking option but this was not agreed by the hotel. A hotel of this size should have at least honoured the deal as a goodwill gesture rather than making checkout an arduous chore despite providing confirmed details from Expedia. This left a sour note on what was an amazing holiday. Would not have chosen this place if we had known parking was not included. Will probably not stay here again.
