Handy for an overnight stop but not for long stays

Posted Dec 5, 2016
Pros: Comfortable beds, handy for an overnight stop.
Cons: Food, in particular the platter of fresh fruit. It was old and mouldy in places.
Location: Handy for us visiting family. On the direct route to/from Newcastle.
Stayed 2 nights, staff were friendly and helpful. Room very basic but beds are very comfortable. If you want your room window open at night time, wear ear plugs because of traffic noise. Breakfast was satisfying except for the cut 'fresh' fruit which appeared days and days old. Some kiwifruit had mould On it and the rockmelon and pineapple were not ripe enough to eat. I quietly drew the fruit issue to the staff, who apologised. But, on the second morning there, the fruit was not much better.

Basic facilities and condition but next to highway

Posted Oct 14, 2016
The hotel has a 24 hours reception which is what I need. The room is too noisy. I could not sleep due to truck noise with all window closed, as it is right next to highway. The air conditioner is quite noisy as well. One good thing is I could walk to a Macdonald nearby.

Average stay.

Pros: Staff were friendly and efficient.
Cons: The meals in the restaurant. The chicken needed a chain saw to cut it.
Room very noisy, on main road. Very noisy air con.

Great for 1or2 people only

Posted May 9, 2016
Stayed here recently,.Good points: QS bed is comfortable, room is clean but small,Tea & Coffee & Jug & small fridge provided in room Dinner & Breakfast & a Bar is in foyer..Bad points: Fold out bed is a joke ,it's not made up & is narrow. My 13 year old barely fitted on it.Mattress is thin, one small sheet covering it,no top sheet ,one blanket & pillow provided.Might be OK for a small child ,not older one or adult..Maybe the should put a proper single bed over QS bed.for space saving..

Convenient For Those Travelling North From Sydney

Posted Apr 18, 2016
Pros: It was convenient to our destination. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Location: Dan Murphy's is a five minute stroll. A traffic light controls the intersection at the hotel for easy access.
My wife and I were attending a 21st Birthday Party near Hornsby and then going north towards Gosford. We found the Ibis Thornleigh very convenient. The staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and all that we needed for an overnight stay.

Well located for my purposes.

Posted Apr 14, 2016
Pros: Location & price.
Cons: Nothing. Standard Ibis hotel.
Location: On major highway. Little to do in the way of sight seeing.
Only a night stay & then onto my appointment 4 kilometres away.

Lovely hotel in outer suburbs

Posted Mar 20, 2016
Pros: Managed to be a quiet oasis beside a very busy main road. The staff were great.
Location: Supermarket close enough to walk to and from. Some take-away food available nearby also. Not too far to walk to train station.
Distance from City center and most major attractions only negative of this place. The staff were very helpful and really great. Room was on the smaller size, but the compact bathroom facilities were enough. Small step up into or down from bathroom "pod" so need to be aware of this if have any mobility challenges. Bed comfortable. Cleaning staff also do a great job each day.
