Good location, helpful, friendly staff.

My husband and I spent a week enjoying the beautiful view from our 9th floor room, watching views of city, the Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge reflected in the sunset. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous and made an effort to get us into a room early, as we had arrived on a very early morning flight. The hotel was still undergoing renovations on some of the floors but we never heard any noise, nor were we inconvenienced by any construction activity. The room was not spacious but large enough with an equipped kitchenette. The bathroom was a bit odd, as the shower door opened out over the toilet seat and it took a bit of contortion to make a high set up into the tiny shower/tub, but the water was hot and plentiful. The best part of the room was the view, and it was terrific. Directly across the street from the hotel is a very nice little restaurant, "Zinc," which serves excellent coffee and good sourdough toast with breakfast. It was an easy walk from the hotel to Mrs. Macquarie's Chair through the beautifully maintained Royal Botanic Gardens. A variety of small restaurants were nearby, as well as a good wine shop and a Woolworth's with very nice fresh veggies, fruits, cheeses, frozen foods and their own wine/bottle shop.
