Trade offs

Posted Feb 25, 2017
We were supposed to have a refurbished unit but at check-in were given a "partially refurbished" one that was disappointing. But we settled since we wanted 2 bedrooms and washer/dryer.

Great location but..

Posted Feb 25, 2017
Pros: great location
Cons: upgrades
Location: Close to Sidney Opera House, Darling Harbour, shopping centres and lots of restaurants
Hotel is in a great location for us on a 2 night stay. Close to the Sydney Opera house, darling harbour, all the shopping and restaurants. However the rooms need to be upgraded, its in rough shape. The carpet is rather disgusting, stained and completely worn away in spots, furniture is nasty. But the bed was good and comfortable and there was everything there we needed, since we did not spend any time in the room other than sleep it was satisfactory. For the price point I certainly expected a much nicer hotel. I would definitely look elsewhere next time.

Good aparthotel in the CBD

Posted Feb 12, 2017
Cons: Interior door locks please!
Location: It is in the Central Business District, close to touristy things, nightlife, and major transportation (train/ferry/bus).
I have stayed here twice in the last 6 weeks and had a decent experience both times. The suites are of good size, and are nicely laid out. There are 2 steps down from the bedroom to the kitchen, so that could be an issue for some. The kitchen is serviceable - stove, microwave, dishwasher, and a good sized 'fridge, although this is mostly full of wine, beer and other drinks for purchase. Basic pots and a frying pan are supplied, along with dishes, mugs, glasses, and utensils. There is also a safe, although it is not big enough for a laptop, it will easily handle tablets and the like. If you like to make your own coffee, you are out of luck unless you bring a press - there is an electric kettle and instant coffee/tea supplied. If you are planning on cooking, there are a couple of grocery stores within a 2-3 minute walk. It is also well placed for restaurants and nightlife. The biggest issue with the suites that I experienced is that there is no secondary lock - no deadbolt or chain that can be engaged from the inside to prevent unwanted entry by someone with a key. While the staff does seem to honour the "Do not disturb" signs, on my first visit the check-in staff inadvertently gave another guest my room - needless to say I was happy to have been awake and fully clothed when he walked in. Other than the lock issue and some noise from the ever-present tram-line construction on George Street, I would recommend it.

Great location In a wonderful city

Posted Feb 7, 2017
Stayed 6 nights in newly renovated apartment prior to a cruise. All the self catering facilities available in the apartment but with great restaurants nearby. Although there is road works outside, the excellent sound proofing installation meant there was no noise heard indoors

We enjoyed being close to the Quay.

Other than George Street being under construction there was no problem getting around. We were close to everything. Loved it. We had a wonderful stay.

Studio hotel close to attractions

Posted Feb 2, 2017
Pros: Close to attractions - excellent location.
Cons: Cleanliness in corridors and in the pool.
Location: Circular Quay where you can catch a ferry to the beaches in within short walking distance. Good restaurants everywhere ...
Everything was perfect even though that only have si-if on the lobby... and, the corridor carpets needed cleaning. Very close to Opera House, Parks, Circular Quay.... and, excellent food court just across the street.

Good central location

Posted Jan 29, 2017
Pros: Clean and spacious with most ammenities.
Cons: Our room had no view and was down the side of the building but it was noisy at night. Double glazed windows could assist to reduce the street noise?
Location: Near to train station, Aust Sq cafes and shops and an easy walk to the Rocks area and Circular Quay.
Have stayed here previous visits to Syd and find it central for getting around. Wynyard station is across the road and connects with the airport, so connections are easy. We chose an apartment style room as we prepared meals or did things ourselves but it is handy having the cafe in the lobby if you want a coffee or cake etc.
